How Do I Update My Account Info with Nintendo?

Email addresses and user information for a Nintendo account (excluding date of birth) can be changed. You'll need to log in to your account to update the info. For users who don't have access to the email address associated with their email account, contact Nintendo to update your email first. Use this guide to update your email address and account info with Nintendo. If you have further questions, feel free to contact Customer Support.

Log In To Your Account

Use this link to sign in to your account: https://accounts.nintendo.com.

Go to Security Settings

Go to Email Address Section

Under Email Address in the security settings, tap Change.

Click Submit

Verify your email address using a verification code sent to the address associated with your Nintendo account. Just tap Submit to get the verification code.

Enter the Verification Code

Hit Submit

Enter the New Email

Click Submit

Wait for the verification code sent to your email address. Enter the code and hit Submit again.

You can also change your password or sign-in method preference under Security Settings. It's the same process as with the email address; simply click Change and follow the on-screen instructions on how to change your email address and sign-in method preference.

Check the Menu Options for Nintendo to determine which information you can update. You'll be able to view your personal information, sign-in settings and privacy and other settings. Click the different menu options to determine which information you can change.

If you want to link a new Nintendo Network ID to your account, follow the steps below. Use your Nintendo Switch Console to update it or the website.

Select Your User Icon from the Console

You'll find this in the HOME Menu of your Switch.

Highlight Friend Suggestions

Use the left and right buttons to highlight photo of the Nintendo 3D systems or the Wii.

Click Next

If the Next option doesn't appear, this means you've already linked the network ID.

Enter Your Password

Click OK

Tap Next

Enter NNID and Password

Click Sign In to Complete the Link

The country and birth date in the ID must match or you can't complete the link.

To use a PC to do the update, follow the steps below:

Sign in to Your Nintendo Account

Tap Your Info

Scroll down to the linked services and apps section and hit Change.

Hit the Box Next to the NNID or Nintendo Network ID

Follow the on-screen instructions to successfully do the update. If you don't remember your NNID password, click on Forgot Your ID and follow the instructions on how to reset your password.

Unlink a Nintendo Network ID by clicking Change in Your Info and clicking the check mark under the ID you want to remove.

Conclusion

Just note that the country and username can't be changed once it's been created.
