What documents do I need to bring for a vehicle registration?

Asked a year ago
When registering a vehicle in New York, you must bring several important documents to the DMV. Firstly, you'll need the vehicle's original title, proof of ownership, or a transferable registration. Additionally, a completed Vehicle Registration/Title Application (Form MV-82) is necessary. Moreover, you must provide a valid state-issued identification card, a driver's license, or a U.S. passport to prove your identity. It's critical to bring along proof of New York state automobile liability insurance coverage, which must include the insurance identification card or policy. Furthermore, if the vehicle was purchased from a dealer, you should furnish the purchase bill of sale and any applicable payment receipts. Lastly, don't forget to bring payment for the registration fees and applicable sales taxes.
