How do I apply for a learner's permit?

Asked a year ago
To apply for a learner's permit in New York, you must be at least 16 years old and pass a written exam based on the driver's manual. You will also need to provide proof of identity and residency, as well as parental consent if you are under 18. Once you have gathered all necessary documents, you can visit your local DMV office or schedule an appointment online. At the DMV, you will submit your paperwork, take a vision test, pay the required fee, and have your photo taken. If you pass all requirements, you will receive your learner's permit, allowing you to practice driving with a licensed adult.
