How Do I Download Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams is taking the world by storm, becoming popular each day as a collaboration tool in the work environment. The platform enables employees to video conference and to send business messages, even remotely. This is especially crucial in the modern era, where corporations commonly hire remote employees. It's important for such workers to access important business information, even if it means using their smartphones.

That's were Microsoft Teams comes in handy. Employees can access company messages, documents, and even meetings in-real time using their smartphones (or computer devices) from wherever they are. With the application, you can expect to have a seamless work process and effective team management tool.

To use Microsoft Teams, you can decide to download the app on your mobile device or desktop. Alternatively, you can log in to Microsoft's website and use Teams via the web. In this write-up, we'll look at the ways you can download the application.

Download teams for mobile

Before embarking on downloading Teams in your mobile device, you should ensure that you have a subscription to Microsoft Office 365. You can either use the free trial subscription for Teams or the full subscription for Office 365. It may suit you to check in with your IT department to find out about the kind of license you'll be using. Additionally, inquire about the terms and conditions attached to using Teams and decide whether you'll be comfortable with the privacy provisions. And if you are ok with it, ensure that any privacy or security app in your phone allows access to Teams. To download Microsoft Teams on your smartphone:

  1. Go to the Google Play Store app
  2. On the search bar, type Microsoft Teams
  3. Once you find it, click on the download icon
  4. Your device will automatically install the app after the download is complete
  5. Locate Teams on your phone and click on it. It would help if you landed on the sign-in screen where you can log in to your existing account or create one
  6. Click the Sign-in button and key in your Office 365 credentials to access your account
  7. It's also important to go to your phone's settings, locate the app manager, find Microsoft Teams, scroll to permissions, and control the information that you want Microsoft to access

Downloading Microsoft Teams on desktop

People who love big screens can download Teams on their desktop computers or laptops. All you have to do is:

  1. Launch the official Microsoft website on your PC
  2. You should see an icon named All Microsoft towards the top right of your home screen. Click on it
  3. A dropdown list will appear. Select Microsoft Teams that's towards the bottom left of the screen.
  4. From the options available in the menu at the top of the subsequent page, select Download Teams
  5. You should land on the download app page. On the left of the page are two options; to download Teams for desktop or mobile. Click on the first option.
  6. Tap Download Teams and your computer will begin the download process.
  7. Afterward, you can locate the app and initiate the sign-in procedure.

The alternatives

While the DIY process is quite simple to follow, it might fail to work for one reason or the other. At this point, it's wise to seek help from the customer service department. The agents are available via phone call, and they'll readily assist you when you get hold of them.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Microsoft Teams Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
