How do I read my electric meter?

Asked a year ago
To read your electric meter, locate the digital or mechanical display and record the numbers from left to right. If the meter has a digital display, note the numbers displayed and disregard any numbers after a decimal point. For mechanical meters, read the dials from right to left, recording the number indicated by each dial on the meter face. Be sure to take note of the unit of measurement displayed on the meter (e.g. kilowatt-hours). Use this reading to track your electricity usage and monitor changes in your bill.
