How do I transfer ownership of a vehicle?

Asked a year ago
To transfer ownership of a vehicle in Kentucky, you will need to complete the back of the title with the buyer's information and odometer reading, then sign and date it. The buyer will also need to sign and date the title. Both parties must complete a Bill of Sale, verifying the purchase price. If there is a lien on the vehicle, the lienholder must provide a notarized lien release. Once all necessary paperwork is completed, the buyer should bring these documents to their local county clerk's office to apply for a new title in their name. Additional fees may apply for the transfer of ownership.
