What is the process for obtaining a commercial driver's license (CDL)?

Asked a year ago
To obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) in Kentucky, you must first meet certain eligibility requirements, including being at least 18 years old (21 years old for interstate driving) and having a valid non-commercial driver's license. You will then need to pass a written knowledge test and a skills test specific to the type of commercial vehicle you intend to drive. Additionally, you must provide documentation of your identity, residency, and social security number. It is also required to pass a medical examination and obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card. Finally, you will need to pay the required fees and submit your application to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
