What are the acceptable methods of payment at the DMV?

At the Kentucky Department of Vehicle Regulation (DMV), we offer various convenient methods of payment. When paying in cash, please ensure you have the exact amount, as we may not be able to provide change. If you prefer to pay by check or money order, make them payable to the Kentucky State Treasurer. Please note that a $30 fee will be charged for returned checks. We also accept major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover, as well as debit cards with one of these logos.
