Your membership number with Costco will be a 12-digit code sometimes preceded by zeros (which you can ignore) that's printed into the back of both your Costco membership card and any Costco credit card. You can then register this number under "Account Details" when you log into your Costco membership account online.
Also remember that in the case of a Costco visa card, you'll also have a credit card number etched and printed into it. This is not the same as your Costco membership/account number.
Another place in which you can find your Costco membership number is your annual membership billing notice from Costco, which is going to either be mailed or emailed to you annually.
How to Activate a Costco Account
You can activate an online Costco account by visiting the Costco website's registration page and selecting Create Account. During this process, you'll be asked to create a password, offer up a registration email address and register your membership number as it appears on your membership card or Costco Visa card.
