How Do I Order Delivery from ChowNow?

Unlike many other third-party restaurant apps, ChowNow is an opt-in website plugin that gives restaurants more control over their business. The plugin syncs with both a website and an app, which customers then use to order from participating restaurants. Many customers prefer using ChowNow, as they know the restaurants and their employees are getting a fair cut. ChowNow also offers more than just delivery; customers can order ahead of time for contactless on-site dining or curbside pickup. If you would like to start using ChowNow to order food, you have several options.

Website Ordering

Go to the ChowNow website and create an account by linking your Google or Facebook login. You can create a separate account, if you wish. Once you have logged in, select your city. You'll now see a map, populated with all your local restaurants who are participating in ChowNow. You can move the map around and ask ChowNow to repopulate with more restaurants.

Currently, you can sort restaurants by "Open Now," "Delivery," and "Curbside Pickup." If you want a particular cuisine, like pizza, sushi, or hamburgers, use the search bar in the top left of the screen to search by term. Once something catches your eye, click either on the restaurant name in the left-hand column or the red marker on the right-hand map.

You're then taken to a page where you're asked to select either pickup or delivery, and schedule a time. If you want your food quickly, select today's date and the earliest available time slot. You can choose different times if you wish, such as if you're setting up a dinner order in the afternoon.

Next, if you're ordering delivery you may be asked to enter your address. This checks that you're within the restaurant's delivery area. If you are, or if you're ordering pickup or dine-in, you're taken to the restaurant's menu.

Now, pick whatever looks appetizing! For each item, you have the ability to assign different quantities or give special instructions. Note that some restaurants may assign a delivery minimum.

Once you have your order just right, click Checkout on the right of the screen. This takes you to the payment screen. Currently, ChowNow only accepts credit cards. Enter your card number, along with your phone number and any tip you wish to give. Double check that your address, phone number, and order are all correct, then click Place Order. Your food should be on its way!

Mobile Apps

ChowNow is available on both the Google Play and Apple app stores. Download whichever app your phone's operating system supports. You may be prompted to allow ChowNow to access your location - this is recommended, so the app can accurately show you local restaurants whose delivery area you're in.

The app opens up directly to a list of local restaurants. You have more filters available here than on the website app, but on the other hand can't manually search for specific terms.

Ordering food remains a similar process to the website. Tap whichever restaurant catches your eye, and scroll through their menu, selecting whatever looks good. Once you're done, tap "Review Order." Ensure your order, address, tip, and any other information is correct. Then simply tap "Place Order" and wait for your delicious food to be ready!
