ChowNow is a website plugin which restaurant owners can attach to their restaurant websites. When they do, the plugin syncs their hours and menu with both a website and a mobile app. Customers can use either the website or the app to order food for delivery. While most customers have food delivered to their homes, in some instances they may wish to have food delivered to a hospital or similar institution. If you're trying to have your ChowNow ordered delivered to a hospital, keep the following in mind.
If you are a longtime user of ChowNow, you may have to change your stored address to know what restaurants deliver to the hospital you have in mind.
To change your location in the website, you have two options. You can click on the text reading "Hi, [Your Name]" on the top right of the page. This opens up a drop-down. Select "Addresses," and type in the hospital's address. Alternatively, when in the search menu, you can move the map to center on the hospital. Then click the blue "Search in this Area" button to see the nearby ChowNow restaurants.
If you're using ChowNow via mobile, make sure the app has your permission to access your location data. If it does, you simply need to open the app and wait for it to populate with restaurants close to the hospital. Otherwise, you should see your address at the top of the menu in the app. If it's incorrect, tap the address bar and manually enter in the hospital's address.
Once you have keyed in the proper location, use the website or app as normal to order whatever you like.
Before you complete your order, double check with the hospital itself! Some wards, like maternity or ICU, impose restrictions on who can access that part of the hospital. Some hospitals may also have separate procedures for deliveries, or want to keep potential allergens away from patients. Check with the closest nurse's desk on any special rules or instructions regarding food delivery. ChowNow currently doesn't allow specific delivery instructions, so have your phone handy in case the driver has questions about where to go or how to deliver your food.
