How Do I Reset My Cash App Password?

Using your Cash App requires your username or ID and password or PIN (personal identification number). If you cannot remember your password, or are logging into an old account and are not quite sure the password you are using is correct, you can reset it. How do you reset your Cash App password? Why a PIN/Password is Important

A PIN is required when conducting transactions over Cash App. You cannot send or receive funds without a working PIN. When you log into your account, follow these steps:

  1. Open Cash App on your mobile device.
  2. You will be sent a one time password/code (OTP/OTC) on your cell phone or tablet.
  3. Enter this code to access your account.

Resetting Your PIN/Password

Once you are in your account through the OPT/OTC, you can reset your password or PIN. To reset your PIN, do the following:

  1. Open Cash App on your phone or tablet.
  2. Complete the process for the one time code or password.
  3. Tap the icon at the top of the screen to view your account details.
  4. Select "Privacy and Security" from the menu.
  5. Tap "Change Cash PIN".
  6. Enter your old cash PIN.
  7. Key in your new cash PIN and confirm.

If you have forgotten your PIN, you need to do the following:

  1. Open Cash App on your device.
  2. Complete the process for the one time code or password.
  3. Tap the icon at the top of the screen to view your account details.
  4. Select "Privacy and Security" from the menu.
  5. Tap "Change Cash PIN."
  6. Select "Forgot Cash PIN" at the bottom of the screen.
  7. Cash App will send a one time code to your phone. Enter this code and hit "Next".
  8. Enter the last four digits of your social security number and hit "Next".
  9. Key in your four digit PIN.
  10. Enter your new four digit PIN again to confirm.
  11. You will receive a text from Cash App stating your PIN has been reset.

Password for Cash App Taxes

It is important to have a password for Cash App Taxes. To reset your password, follow these steps:

  1. Open Cash App on your phone or tablet.
  2. Complete the process for the one time code or password.
  3. Tap on the icon at the top of the screen to view your account details.
  4. Select "Privacy and Security" from the menu.
  5. Scroll to "Password" and tap on "Change Password".
  6. If you have Face ID enabled, use this to open the "Create New Password" form.
  7. Enter your new password and use Face ID to confirm.
  8. You will receive a message on your phone in the app stating your password has been successfully updated.
  9. Tap "Done" to close the form.
