Visit the American Airlines website.
Scroll all the way down the American Airlines homepage until you find the "FAQs" link. It's below "Conditions of carriage" and above "Contact."
Click on the "FAQs" link. Doing so will take you to the page of the same name.
Scroll down until you find the "Customer service" section.
Browse the "Customer service" section until you find the "Customer service FAQs" link at the bottom of the list.
Click on the "Customer service FAQs" link. Doing so will take you to the "Customer service FAQs" page.
Find the "Bags" section, which should be the first one on the page.
Find the "Bags" link under the "Bags" section. Click on it when you find it, which will take you to the "Bags" page.
Browse the "Bags" page until you find the link that says "Delayed or damaged bags."
Click on "Delayed or damaged bags," which will take you to the "Delayed or damaged bags" page.
The "Delayed or damaged bags" page offers information about what to do in your situation since your bag is currently lost. Browse the page and look for the "File a bag report" and "Delayed bags" sections, which should be the first two below the menu at the top.
Read the "File a bag report" and "Delayed bags" sections on the American Airlines website.
File a report with American Airlines to let them know that your bag is lost. If you need further assistance, please move on to Step 14.
