I replied to a post on OfferUp and the seller provided an email for communication. After expressing my interest in the item, the seller informed me that the transaction would go through the eBay Buyer Protection Program. I was told to expect an invoice from eBay with payment details. An email from eBay customer support instructed me to purchase eBay cards for payment. I followed instructions, bought three cards, and called the provided number to provide the card details. After receiving a payment confirmation, I was informed the item would be shipped within three days. The next day, I was asked to pay for shipping insurance using eBay cards due to a supposed hold-up. This raised suspicion for me.

I have encountered a few issues with my recent eBay experiences. First, the customer service I received was utterly incompetent. Furthermore, I noticed the same item, a watch with identical imperfections, being sold by two different sellers simultaneously (item numbers: [redacted]16 and [redacted]20). When I tried to address this with customer service, I found them unable to understand or assist me adequately, only repeating that "eBay will refund you." Additionally, as I was considering bidding on an item ([redacted]59), I observed that over 90% of the bidders were retracting their bids, with some retracting more than 50 times in six months. This behavior seemed suspicious, as it appeared they were artificially inflating prices. In my years of bidding, I have never had to retract a bid and find this level of retraction concerning and potentially fraudulent. Overall, my recent experiences on eBay have not been positive.

I need assistance with an issue I encountered. I sold an item on eBay on October 19th, with item number [redacted]70, to a buyer who owns a YouTube channel. The item was actually the ownership transfer of the YouTube channel itself. The buyer successfully became the primary owner of the channel on October 21st. However, on October 23rd, the buyer opened a dispute on PayPal, claiming they didn't receive the item, which in this case was the YouTube channel. I provided evidence of the transfer, but PayPal ruled in the buyer's favor due to the lack of shipping details. I am unable to provide a tracking ID as YouTube channels cannot be physically shipped. I have screenshots documenting the transfer process, and it is clear that the buyer acquired full ownership of the channel. I believe the buyer is taking advantage of PayPal's buyer protection system. I seek help in resolving this situation. Thank you.

I've attempted to contact the seller on two occasions regarding my purchase made on October 3rd. When I bought the item, I messaged the seller to confirm delivery by October 29th. With no response, I assumed it would arrive on time and even opted for priority global shipping. An email notified me that the item was shipped on 10/17 to the global center, where it typically takes a week to reach me. I reached out on 10/24 for an arrival date update as tracking information was unavailable, and shipping details showed "no estimate available." The item is now scheduled to arrive on November 3rd, well after Halloween and my son's school event. This late delivery has left me extremely disappointed, as I now need to scramble to find an alternative costume. I am seeking a refund promptly as the item is no longer needed due to the delayed delivery.

I have a question regarding potential fraud. Due to work constraints, I've arranged for eBay to handle the sale of my [redacted] Ford Mustang. The car is ready for delivery by eBay, and the shipping fees are covered. Upon arrival, you'll have 5 days to inspect the car. To proceed, I need your full name and address for eBay to send you the transaction details. Thank you. The Mustang belonged to my late father and is being sold to avoid bad memories associated with it. I've attached photos for your consideration. If interested, please share your details, and eBay will reach out to you. I look forward to your response. Thank you.

Hello, A couple of months ago, I was looking to check the shipping costs for two items. I reached the payment confirmation page but the charges were too high for me, so I didn't proceed with the payment. Now eBay seems to have the order pending for payment and I'm being asked to pay. I contacted the seller to cancel the order but eBay is stating I need to initiate the cancellation, which I can't find how to do on the site. The seller is waiting for my action, but I'm unsure how to cancel these orders that were never completed due to the high costs. The seller, leahandmom, has items listed as: 1. CATHOLIC PRIEST SICK CALL SET GOLD PYX HOLY WATER SPRINKLER STOLE OIL STOCK Price: $[redacted].95 Item ID: [redacted]39 2. CATHOLIC PRIEST SICK CALL complete set ... Price: $[redacted].95 Sales Date: Thu, Oct 18, [redacted] 16:56:11 AST Item ID: [redacted]56 I would like help navigating how to cancel these transactions that I never completed payment for. Thank you.

I purchased a radio from the eBay seller "onfine2008". I attempted to communicate with the seller via eBay messages for more information on the item. The seller was slow in responding, so I opened a refund request. Later, I informed the seller not to issue the refund as I had changed my mind and wanted the item. The seller insisted they processed the refund, which I can see as sent, even though I declined it. However, I never received the refund in my bank account despite checking multiple times. My bank statement shows the seller charged me $90.90 instead of $90.00, and now they claim the item was not paid for, although my bank records indicate otherwise. I still wish to receive the item.

Item Number [redacted]36 Buyer - M.X. Sale date 1/10/[redacted] The buyer, M.X., purchased the item on January 10th, [redacted], but failed to pay or make contact. After sending a payment reminder and opening an unpaid item case, the buyer claimed to have paid via PayPal, but it turned out to be an E-check with uncleared funds. Despite attempts to resolve the payment issue, the buyer left negative feedback on October 22nd. I am seeking assistance from eBay to have the negative feedback removed and my [redacted]% feedback restored. This is the third time I have contacted eBay about this matter. Your prompt response is greatly appreciated.

I received the wrong item and requested a return. I was unable to print the return label despite receiving instructions. The website displayed an error message when trying to print the label. I reached out via email twice without a response and faced unhelpful customer service over the phone. They advised me to contact you for assistance with the return label. The item is no longer in my purchase history. Details of the product: Genuine Ford C-Max Grand CMAX Rear Parcel Shelf Package Tray Cover Panel [redacted]. Seller ID: trust-ford. Return ID: [redacted]. I need the return label to send the item back free of charge due to the mistake.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am displeased with eBay and have now turned to using Marketplace and Shpock. A buyer falsely claimed a pair of sunglasses I sold were dirty and scratched, marking the end of my trust in eBay's seller protection. Despite explaining the situation to the buyer, they returned the item, and eBay sided with them, issuing a full refund. The sunglasses returned in unsellable condition have left me frustrated. As a result, I have decided to cease selling on eBay moving forward. Best Regards, Lyn Allison eBay Username: Lyn-a Email: [redacted] Sunglasses Item Number: [redacted]89

I purchased a wireless dog fence from hermandeal, but unfortunately, the device was defective. Despite the seller's guarantee of a free replacement or refund, they required me to prove the device's malfunction before offering any solution. Frustrated by the delay, I had no option but to purchase a new unit from another merchant on eBay, which was promptly delivered and is functioning correctly. The Chinese seller eventually agreed to refund my money upon returning the faulty device with a tracking number, meaning I would bear the cost of returning unusable merchandise. This is my first unsatisfactory experience with a seller in my eight years on eBay, where I have a [redacted]% positive feedback rating. I struggle to log into my eBay account due to a forgotten password and used PayPal credit as a guest for this purchase. I have reached out to the seller through eBay messages to resolve this matter but have encountered challenges. I hope to find a resolution soon. Thank you for your assistance. - D.T.

I'm a bit confused. Am I not allowed to provide postage information? If I send it via recorded delivery, do I still have to worry about the seller denying receiving the item or any other reason not to refund my money? I wouldn't mind usually, but this is £[redacted], which was my daughter's 8th birthday money for her aquarium. It's a lot of money for her to lose, and it's a hassle for me to replace if anything happens after sending the light back. Hi Catherine, After reviewing your case, we've determined that you need to return the item to the seller to get your refund. We apologize for any inconvenience with your purchase. Please make sure to send the item back to the seller by 9 Nov [redacted] to receive your refund. You can either use the postage label provided by eBay or use your own label and input the tracking details in the Resolution Centre. If you choose to use your own label, we won't cover the return postage costs. Once we receive tracking confirmation that the item has been delivered to the seller, we will proceed with issuing your refund.

I participated in the auction for item number [redacted]88 and successfully won it. I made the payment via PayPal with the order number [redacted][redacted]. However, when I tried to arrange for pickup with the seller, they demanded an additional $[redacted], stating they had received a higher offer of $[redacted] and were unwilling to sell at the price I won the auction for, which was $65. The seller claims that eBay set the price at $65, but I believe they should honor the auction price. Despite being a member since [redacted], the seller seems to be manipulating the situation. I simply want to receive the item at the price I rightfully won it for. Sincerely, DS.

I apologize for the lengthy message, but I wanted to provide a detailed account of my experience with a seller. Upon ordering an iPhone battery, I noticed discrepancies in the delivery process. The item did not arrive although another order from a different seller with the same delivery date did. The seller failed to provide a tracking number, causing uncertainty. After reaching out twice, the seller claimed the item was lost and offered a replacement in exchange for positive feedback. Suspecting a scam, I researched and found feedback manipulation tactics. Despite my insistence on receiving a tracking number before changing feedback, the seller became defensive. Eventually, I requested a refund, which led to a confrontation and a refund issued to an old prepaid card. This experience highlights manipulative practices, and I urge others to be cautious.

Dear eBay Team, I made a purchase on October 11th, a lens from the USA for $[redacted]. The seller did not disclose the $[redacted] import taxes required to ship the item from the USA to Mexico. I only found out about this when I spoke to UPS regarding the delay in my package, which has now exceeded 10 days. UPS informed me that the package is still at the airport and I need to pay the import taxes. The seller did not mention anything about these taxes. I am surprised by this unexpected additional cost. Shouldn't the seller have informed me about these expenses beforehand? If so, is it their responsibility to cover this amount considering the situation? Thank you, Lisa

Hello, I recently purchased some bar ends for my motorbike. Before buying, I carefully checked the price and postage to ensure there were no additional charges. However, today I received a letter from Royalmail, the postage service, requesting an import charge. I'm surprised by this unexpected fee since I've never encountered it in past purchases. Shouldn't the seller have disclosed this information upfront so I could have made an informed decision before buying? I'm considering opening a case on eBay regarding this issue. It seems unfair that I was not informed of these additional costs beforehand. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

I have recently been informed that my dispute regarding a decision made by eBay will be denied. The reason given is that I did not provide a shipping label for a buyer who claimed an item I sold was fake or counterfeit, which is not true. I was advised that if I had submitted a return label, the case would have been decided in my favor. I came across an article on The Guardian detailing similar poor customer support experiences with eBay that others have faced. Not only were funds deducted from my account, but I am also being instructed to reach out to the buyer to retrieve the item. I would prefer to be contacted by a US-based eBay representative at [redacted].

I purchased an item that was delivered in August. Unfortunately, the Cricut machine was damaged during transport or delivery. It took a long time to identify the issue with the Cricut customer service, but it was resolved just last week on the 21st of October. Now, the seller is instructing me to contact eBay. However, I have been struggling to log a complaint or return the item through the online return guide provided. The item is brand new, but the seller originally purchased it from the Home Shopping Network and then sold it to me, making it complicated to return to Cricut for a refund.

Subject: Issue with Recent Purchase of 3-Pack Iodo Blanco Decolorized (Item Id: [redacted]32) Seller: ninavladi ([redacted]) Hello, I recently received my order of the 3-pack Iodo Blanco Decolorized as scheduled on September 26, [redacted]. However, upon inspection, I discovered that one of the bottles was leaking, and the package only contained two bottles instead of three. When I reached out to the seller from Ukraine through eBay to address the issue, I was met with disrespect and accusations. Despite their request for photos, it was impossible to capture the missing bottle in a picture. While initially stating that the package was undamaged, upon further consideration, I realized I may have overlooked this in my haste to open it. The unpleasant interactions with the seller have left me discouraged. I had turned to this purchase as pharmacies no longer stock this product. I recommend finding a supplier who values customer service.

I recently sold a bag on eBay for $[redacted]. Following pressure from eBay, I agreed to a return. Before receiving the item back, I issued a refund as I saw it was on its way. However, upon opening the return package, I discovered a completely different bag inside, not the one I sold. eBay's response that they couldn't help because I refunded the buyer independently after closing the case is frustrating. Despite the refund being voluntary, I was bombarded with emails urging me to do so. This situation has resulted in both a financial and product loss for me, which is disheartening. I am not a professional seller on eBay, just an individual like many others selling personal items. It is disappointing that eBay seems to prioritize buyers over sellers. I have shared my experience with my substantial Instagram following, leading many to avoid using eBay. It is essential for eBay to consider the impact on sellers, as they also have significant influence in the online marketplace.
