I have recently acquired a new phone number from Verizon. Seeking to update around [redacted] contacts on WhatsApp about my new number, I drafted a message starting with "Hello... I have a new number for WhatsApp..." and concluded with my name, "Harlow." I attempted to efficiently forward the message to contacts in batches of five. The quoted parts are from WhatsApp, and the parts in between quotes are my comments. I apologize for the inconvenience. It appears that you may have an inactive or missing SIM card. Without a working SIM, you won't be able to activate your WhatsApp. A registration code is crucial to verify your phone number. Kindly register using SMS or a phone call as we cannot send the code via email for security reasons. "Our SIM card is active, and we receive a registration code, but upon entering it, we encounter an error message: 'This account cannot use WhatsApp...'. I have attached a screenshot of this message for your reference." Activating your account requires verifying your phone number with a code and having: - An active SIM card for the number being activated. We are using a regular phone number, not a VoIP." - A stable internet connection to receive the code. "We have stable internet and cellular connections. We are not currently abroad or roaming."
