Hello, I wanted to ask if you can help me. I had my WhatsApp backup stored locally, and after a software update, it wasn't synchronizing anymore. I found an article online suggesting to reinstall it, so I did. However, my local backup is gone, and now all my chat histories are missing. Is there any way to retrieve this backup or get back my chat histories?

I accidentally selected "delete for me" instead of "delete for everyone" for a picture I sent in a group chat. It's crucial that it's removed for everyone's view. I attempted to back up messages and reinstall the app, but without enabling backups during the initial installation, it's not helpful. I'm stuck and unable to recover the deleted message. Is there any way to resolve this? I urgently need to delete it completely. Please assist me with this. Thank you.

I believe someone attempted to hack into my WhatsApp account. I noticed unfamiliar messages being typed. I reported the issue through the app, deleted the conversation, and blocked the user. My phone number is [redacted]. To address the situation, I uninstalled the app, deleted my account, and then reset my phone to clear all its data. Can anyone explain what occurred and confirm if my personal information is at risk? I am concerned about the security of my bank account.

I recently relocated from Morocco to the United States. Regrettably, I had to leave my phone behind with my previous employer in Morocco, on which I had the number +[redacted] [redacted] 89 32 28 linked to a WhatsApp account. Now that I have a new phone and a new number in the US - 1 [redacted], I am looking to switch my WhatsApp account to my new US number without losing my contacts. I recently installed WhatsApp on my tablet to chat using the same account as on my phone. I ran into issues because I can only use one account per number and mistakenly registered on my tablet first. After attempting to switch, I received a verification message on my tablet and accidentally logged out by clicking verify. This led to trouble verifying on my phone as it seemed to re-verify on my tablet instead. I uninstalled WhatsApp on my tablet to try and resolve the issue but now I'm stuck on the name entry page on my phone. I'm hesitant to uninstall from my phone without a backup. Hoping for alternative solutions to regain access to WhatsApp on my phone.

Today, my phone number was unexpectedly banned by WhatsApp, and despite my inquiries, they provided no explanation other than directing me to their terms of service page. I suspect my account may have been compromised, but WhatsApp refused to disclose any specific violations, only mentioning that my number was reported multiple times. Despite my insistence that I did not breach any terms of service, they maintained the ban and subsequently blocked me from further communication on the matter. I'm seeking to have my account reinstated and the ban lifted, as I had valuable information in threads spanning several years that I risk losing. I am certain that I did not violate any terms of service.

Hello, I am contacting you on behalf of my boss in California, USA. He recently experienced a security breach on his WhatsApp account following a group call with someone from Mexico. Since the incident, his account has been compromised. Unknown callers, explicit content, and unfamiliar information have appeared on his profile, making it clear that his account is no longer under his control. Despite attempting to reset his account, he has not received the reset email, suspecting the hacker is intercepting it. These were sent in a card format, as I also use this number for work. Unfortunately, some contacts reported my message for unknown reasons, resulting in WhatsApp mistaking me for spam or someone spreading inappropriate content. I recently encountered someone on Facebook named Kim Meagan who attempted a Sugar Mama scam by offering me $40,[redacted] weekly to be her sugar baby. Skeptical, I shared my number, [redacted], and received a confirmation code, [redacted]. Soon after, a man messaged me, prompting me to realize it was a scam. Despite the Hispanic voice on the phone call, the Facebook profile displayed a Caucasian woman with children. This fraudulent individual even contacted me through WhatsApp, which I couldn't access. The scammer is persistently asking for a $[redacted] Google card, claiming it's for loading money. I have saved messages and call records. If anyone else has experienced this, please reach out.

Hello, I am seeking assistance with recovering messages from a local backup on Android devices. The original phone has had WhatsApp removed, and the target phone is a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S running Android 11. Despite multiple attempts, I have been unsuccessful in restoring the messages. I have correctly placed the backup files, uninstalled and reinstalled WhatsApp numerous times, and encountered delays in receiving verification codes, now extending to days due to frequent attempts. The urgent concern now is that due to multiple installation attempts, the verification code is delayed by WhatsApp for up to two days. This delay is problematic and requires a reset to the counter/limit on verification codes. Your prompt attention and advice on resolving this issue are greatly appreciated. My phone number in India has been banned from using WhatsApp. When I try to access my account, I receive the following message: "Your phone number is banned from using WhatsApp. Contact support for help." I reached out to [redacted] and received the following reply: "Our system flagged your account activity as a violation of our Terms of Service and banned your phone number. Your account will remain banned as a result of the violation. We recommend carefully reviewing the “Acceptable Use of Our Services” section of our Terms of Service to learn more about the appropriate uses of WhatsApp and the activities that violate our Terms of Service. You can learn more about how to use WhatsApp responsibly in this Help Center article. Please keep in mind, WhatsApp reserves the right to enforce its policies in accordance with its Terms of Service." I also received another message stating: "Hi, We have reason to believe your account activity has violated our Terms of Service and decided to keep your account banned. To whom it may concern, I recently found myself banned for the second time without any prior warning. My ban was a result of reporting two scammers on the platform. I've been receiving unsolicited messages from individuals who claim to know me from a dating site, leading to scams involving requests for money or cryptocurrency schemes. Despite usually just blocking the senders, I reported two scammers today. Shortly after, I was unexpectedly banned without a clear reason provided. I received a SIM card from my ex-boyfriend in [redacted], registered under his name. We broke up in September [redacted]. I experienced issues with my WhatsApp account being repeatedly banned starting on 21 January. After contacting WhatsApp each time, my account was eventually unbanned, only to be banned again shortly after. This cycle continued until 2 February when I was informed that my ban was a mistake and it should be lifted, allowing me to use WhatsApp for about 15 days. Unfortunately, on 17 February, my account was banned once more, even though WhatsApp acknowledged it was another mistake and removed the ban. This pattern has persisted, and despite their assurances, my WhatsApp remains banned and unusable. I am feeling very frustrated and seeking advice on how to address this ongoing problem.

I am being blackmailed by an unknown person. I received a friend request on Facebook from someone named Riya Gupta. After I added them on WhatsApp, they requested a video chat and then proceeded to send me inappropriate images. When I refused, they began to blackmail me with screenshots of the video and threaten to share it with my friends and family on Facebook. I have already deleted my Facebook and WhatsApp accounts.
