I have been struggling to access my WhatsApp account since last Saturday evening. Around 4-5pm, I received a notification stating that my account has been banned due to a violation of WhatsApp’s terms of service. I have tried reaching out to their help center via email, but I have not received any response. This is causing me a lot of stress as I have had this number for over 20 years and use it to stay in touch with family, friends, and business contacts worldwide. I transferred the SIM card from my old iPhone 5 to my new iPhone XS but now I can't access my WhatsApp chats. I attempted to send the data to my new phone but I no longer have the verification code. How can I get a new verification code without access to the old one? When trying to transfer using both numbers, they are the same! I received a message from someone claiming to be my eldest daughter, stating that her phone got damaged in the wash. She provided a new number. After exchanging messages on WhatsApp, I became suspicious and called my daughter's landline. It turned out she didn't send those messages, and she was worried. I deleted the new number from my contacts and blocked the messages on WhatsApp. I am unsure if it's my daughter or myself who got hacked. What steps should we take next?

In einem kürzlichen Update war es nicht mehr möglich, die zweite Instanz mit mehreren verknüpften Geräten zu nutzen. Die Schaltfläche "Gerät hinzufügen", die zuvor in der ersten Instanz funktionierte, reagiert in der zweiten Instanz nun nicht mehr. Als Folge ist es derzeit nicht möglich, die WhatsApp-Nummer, die in der zweiten Instanz aktiv ist, auf einem PC oder anderen Geräten zu nutzen. Vielen Dank für die Klarstellung. I came across a scammer who is using the WhatsApp number +1 [redacted] to impersonate a bank in the Cayman Islands, engaging in fee fraud and phishing. This number was displayed at the bottom of the suspicious email I received. If you need more information, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. It's crucial to investigate this matter and take necessary actions. Other contacts have begun suspending email accounts, and I have acquired payment account details from the scammer which I am in the process of blocking. Disabling the scammer's WhatsApp number will help dismantle the fraudulent scheme entirely. Thank you.

I am from Nepal and recently received a voicemail on WhatsApp from someone claiming to be Mr. Devraj Malhotra from the USA, informing me that I have won $50,[redacted]. He instructed me to contact Mr. Rajesh Kumar, the manager at the SBI bank. After reaching out to Mr. Kumar, he requested my bank account details, passport-size photo, and citizenship card to process the transfer. Following his instructions, he then asked me to pay Rs. 40,[redacted] for online banking charges before the funds could be transferred. I am hesitant as I do not have the money to cover these charges upfront. I am unsure if this is a legitimate opportunity or a scam. What steps should I take in this situation?

I have been using WhatsApp for the past two years. Around 20 days ago, I started receiving numerous messages from unknown numbers claiming I had messaged them when I hadn't. After blocking and reporting several of them for sending vulgar messages, my WhatsApp account was unexpectedly banned. Although it got unbanned after a few hours, my account has been banned multiple times since then. In an attempt to resolve this issue, I deleted my account and recreated it using the same number, but the problem persists with frequent bans. I am hesitant to change my number as I suspect my account may have been hacked.

Someone contacted me from the phone number ([redacted]0) regarding a meeting scheduled for Tuesday. During the conversation, they used my phone number to activate a WhatsApp account on their device. Subsequently, a verification code was sent to my phone, which they asked me to provide over the phone. Unknowingly, I shared the code with them only to realize later that they were a hacker. I registered WhatsApp with a UK number I don't use anymore. I recently changed phones and got a new number.
