I was charged $39.00 on 12/1/[redacted] and $21.99 on 11/18/[redacted]. I did not sign up for a membership and unsure why my checking account is being charged. I experienced a data breach in the past. It is possible someone used my information to sign up for a membership at your facility. I am already a member at Crunch Fitness in San Francisco for over 2 years. Please refund the charged amounts from my checking account soon. I may contact my bank regarding this issue. I hope you can refund the charges promptly to avoid closing my checking account. Thank you.

I have come across two charges on my bank statement from Planet Fitness that I do not recognize. The first charge occurred on 11/18/[redacted] for $21.99, and the second one was on 12/1/[redacted] for $39.00. Since my information was involved in a recent data breach, it seems someone has gained access to my email, name, and checking account number. I am certain I did not sign up for Planet Fitness as I have been a member at Crunch Fitness for the past 2 years. Please refund me the unauthorized amounts as soon as possible. Thank you.

Hello, I have had a membership with Planet Fitness for a few months. I did not utilize the membership as much as I had intended, resulting in an outstanding balance that I am now being asked to pay before I can cancel or transfer to a new gym. Despite not using the membership, I am being prompted to settle the balance, which is confusing to me, especially since it is a month-to-month contract and not annual. As I am now closer to a Planet Fitness location, I would like to start using my black card but I am unsure if I need to clear the entire outstanding balance or if I can pay for just the current month to use the facilities. I believe there should be a more reasonable solution rather than being charged over $[redacted] for the months I did not utilize the membership. Thank you.

I recently visited my local Planet Fitness branch to address concerns about being charged for a black card membership. Despite intending to be on the $10 plan and only using the gym twice, I found out that my membership was never switched. This resulted in a $40 charge that overdrafted my account, causing financial strain. As a student at Michigan State University, every dollar is vital to me. I am requesting a full refund to rectify this situation that has left me in a tough spot financially.

I recently canceled my membership, which was supposedly completed by Julie McAuley, but I was still charged. The manager signed me up for a 12-month contract without mentioning that the black card I was signing up for had been discontinued. It seems to be a recurring issue with the company, and it is unacceptable when dealing with customers' banking information. I am seeking a full refund and want my account to be completely canceled.

I usually get charged around $23 for my account per month, consistently on the same day. However, yesterday I noticed a charge of $40, which is double the usual amount and came about two weeks early. I am puzzled about this unexpected increase and premature charge as I wasn't prepared with enough funds in this account. This may lead to a bounced payment, resulting in additional Non-Sufficient Funds fees from my bank.

Hello,
I was a member at Fitness 4 Less, and when they closed down, they transferred my information to Planet Fitness. I opted not to continue with Planet Fitness, so they provided a number to call for a refund. I've reached out twice but have yet to receive the refund promised by their customer service. It has been nearly three months, and I am still waiting for a resolution and my refund.

I was a member at Planet Fitness from [redacted] to [redacted]. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding with the police that made the news, my membership was terminated in November [redacted] after two women felt uncomfortable in my presence. Despite never causing any trouble, my return to the gym was prohibited. My lawyer advised me that this action infringed upon my rights and suggested I could pursue legal action against the company. However, my intention is not to sue but to understand why my membership was canceled and potentially rejoin after five years. I am unaware of the identity of the women who raised concerns. Please reach out to me via email regarding the possibility of rejoining the gym. Thank you.

I contacted them about canceling three months ago and was advised to do it in person, which I did. However, they couldn't locate my account. I then contacted my bank to cease the payments. Despite this, Planet Fitness has continued withdrawing funds under a slightly different name for the past two months. Today, I spoke with the manager who was incredibly rude and stated I must settle a balance before they will cancel, even if I go in person again. I've been paying for my and my daughter's memberships for two years and simply want to terminate them. Assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Amber C.

I recently spoke with the manager at Planet Fitness in Plattsburgh, New York, where I have a black card membership. I was surprised to hear that she mentioned getting "slapped" by her boss, not literally of course, when I requested two massage chair coins. This made me wonder if there has been a policy change regarding the massage chair usage time. If the website does not clearly state that black card members only get a 5-minute massage, compared to 10 minutes on the hydro beds, it would be beneficial to make this information more transparent so that customers are aware before signing up for memberships. It would be helpful for both customers and clients to have this information clearly displayed on the website or in the facility for better understanding.

I was a member of Planet Fitness for a short period, during which they charged my account despite my only visiting the gym once. I contacted them to explain that I lost my transportation and couldn't make it there. I called the Chelsea, MA location multiple times to request a cancellation, but the lady never processed it. $[redacted].00 was deducted from my account, and my membership was never canceled. Despite explaining my situation, they haven't refunded me. If you review my history, you'll see that I only visited the gym once.

It would be greatly appreciated if canceling memberships could be made more convenient for customers. With life's unpredictable nature, individuals may need to discontinue their gym membership due to various reasons. Charging fees after cancellations, particularly if the funds are not available, can result in financial difficulties. It would be beneficial to simply cancel the membership if payment is not feasible. Addressing these concerns would improve customer service and alleviate the frustrations experienced by many.

I recently worked a 5-hour shift from 12 am to 5 am at the Planet Fitness in Delran, NJ. I completed my job but decided not to return due to issues with the overnight staff. Some of them appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and were sleeping in the tanning salon during the shift. I value professionalism and cannot work in such an environment. It has been 3 to 4 weeks since then, and I have yet to receive my paycheck for those 5 hours. I wanted to reach out before escalating the matter to the Wages and Hours department.

I visited the gym to cancel my membership but was advised to freeze it instead. The staff member assured me they would freeze it with a note to cancel it for free later. Unfortunately, I have been charged for two months despite this. The gym now says they will cancel it, but I won't get a refund and they claim there is no note on file. I would like a refund for the two months as promised.

I signed up for Planet Fitness on Sept 25, expecting my charges to occur monthly on the 25th. However, I have noticed that the charges are inconsistent, happening on random dates like the 17th or 16th. This unpredictability is causing financial issues and potential overdraft fees. I feel let down by the lack of communication regarding the payment dates, and if this matter remains unresolved, I will be compelled to seek another gym membership.
Thank you, J. Polanco

Good evening,
I am a member of a Roman Catholic Religious Community, also known as a nun. I recently attempted to sign up for a membership but encountered an issue as I am unable to provide a bank account. Being a sister, I do not possess a personal bank account. I contacted my local Planet Fitness, and they were very kind, although I must appear before 8:30 PM today to secure the discounted rate, which is not possible for me. Unfortunately, I am unable to join the club online due to the bank account requirement. I was prepared to pay for the entire year using my credit card or a Visa Gift card, but regrettably, this was not an option. I am disappointed by this inconvenience.

I visited my local PF on Monday, December 23rd to switch my membership from $21.99 to $10.00 per month as my one-year commitment at $21.99 had expired. The front desk staff assured me the change was made. Upon reviewing my bank statement, I noticed I was still charged $21.99. I should not have been billed this amount since my contract term ended, and I made the adjustment in person. Kindly issue a refund for the excess amount promptly.
Thank you,
Hope Lewallen

I recently noticed an $80 charge from your company on my credit card statement. Currently undergoing treatment for cervical cancer since August, I would appreciate a prompt refund to my account. I've been advised by my credit card company to address the issue directly with you. Given my stage 3 cancer diagnosis, I kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation in resolving this matter quickly.
Best,

My husband and I cancelled our membership back in February [redacted] but recently discovered charges from February, March, October, November, and December of [redacted] on our old bank statement. The charges continued even after we canceled. We went to Planet Fitness to address the issue in person. We found out that there were two accounts under similar names: Chris Davis and Christopher Davis. The mix-up occurred because both were linked to the same phone number. When we canceled, we were unaware of the second account and assumed there was only one to cancel. We explained the situation, mentioning we were moving to Martinsville and switching gyms. The staff at the gym failed to mention the second account when we canceled, leading to the continued charges. The manager, Josh, helped by cancelling the second account and advised us to contact customer service for a refund. I hope this misunderstanding is resolved promptly.
