Last night, my neighbors and I were on the app discussing our mayor and city council's decision to defund our police department. We expressed our support for the police but someone rudely disagreed, leading to all our conversations disappearing. Three individuals accused the platform of removing the discussion, causing upset among many users. If this behavior is permissible, I am considering deleting the app as I find it unjust. Thank you for clarifying the rules.

This is my first year using Nextdoor. I encountered some issues with a lead named Alex Flamer who made disrespectful comments and accused me of being figured out by an analytics organization. Despite my efforts to communicate appropriately, I was removed and added back to the platform several times. Eventually, another user named Tenisha permanently removed me. I remained respectful and engaged in the conversations I was directed to through email notifications.

I reached out to Just Answer for help with my Nextdoor email access issue. They suggested changing my password, which I had already done prior to contacting them. Now, I need to cancel my subscription with Just Answer. Recently, when I tried logging into Nextdoor, I had to change my password again and then was told my email wasn't valid, despite using it before. I attempted to register on the app, but it said my email was linked to another account. I’m unsure if the app is better and how to resolve the email issue. I use Nextdoor on my iPhone, Mac Desktop, and Chromebook. Do I need to follow the same email confirmation process on the app? It's slower than my friends’ experience. I'd appreciate guidance to improve my access to the service. Last week, the service helped me return a lost dog, showcasing its value to me. Thank you for your assistance. - Anne Clark

My account has been suspended until September 5, [redacted], which I feel is unjust. I want to alert my neighbors about two individuals, Breann Allgood and Courtney Prichard, who I believe are involved in criminal activities impacting our neighborhood. These women, specifically Breann, are allegedly involved in drug use, prostitution, theft, and homelessness. By sharing their names, I hope to assist others in reporting relevant information to the authorities. If Nextdoor aims to promote community safety, my actions should not have resulted in my account suspension. Furthermore, I encountered issues with a person named Damion McCurry from Jacksonville, Florida, who was harassing me and seeking personal details, leading to an unpleasant interaction. Despite muting him, he continues to contact me via private messages. This situation calls for appropriate actions to be taken concerning his behavior towards me and others.

Good Afternoon, My friend invited me to Nextdoor to share a community service. I responded to the invitation by providing the required information and authenticating my phone number. The company then asked for official documents or my home deed to prove homeownership. I submitted documents from the Social Security Office and a local hospital, but was then asked to scan the entire document, which felt invasive as the information was private. I shared the invitation from their member, but was now asked for further verification and copies of my driver's license. This level of scrutiny feels excessive and harassing, especially the request for my medical information, a potential HIPAA violation. The escalation has left me and the inviting member in shock. Despite providing the necessary details, including the member's invitation, personal email addresses, phone authentication, and official documents, I have not received a response from Nextdoor. I am eager to engage in my community on Nextdoor without compromising my privacy. Thank you, Sonya.

Hello, I am Dennis V., the Lead for the Thousandaire Homestead in Pahrump, Nevada. One of our members has faced two suspensions for inappropriate behavior, sparking concern among neighboring communities. The lack of transparency about the thirty-day suspension has caused upset and led to members considering leaving the site. As the member's behavior reflects on our community, I am eager to address the issue promptly. It is crucial that I am informed of any ongoing issues with our members to maintain a harmonious environment. Your timely assistance in providing the necessary details is greatly appreciated to prevent further loss of members and maintain community cohesion. Thank you.

I have been a loyal Nextdoor user for years without any issues. I recently noticed the updated logo, and since then, I have been unable to log in despite receiving email updates. When attempting to log in, I am prompted to enter a verification code which I never receive. After finally receiving a code the next day, I encountered an error message stating I had made too many attempts and to try again later. I feel frustrated as none of the technical support options provided by Nextdoor seem to be working. It's frustrating to be stuck in a loop trying to navigate through their verification system when I have not made any changes on my end.

I recently had my account suspended by Nextdoor for 5 days. As a new user, I understand their focus on safety and positivity, but I have noticed concerning behavior on the platform. Some users have requested large sums of money or free legal help, while others have shared alarming stories without providing the full picture. There is also a trend of passive-aggressive and hostile interactions among neighbors, leading to a toxic environment. I have spoken out about these issues and received backlash instead of support.
Additionally, I have faced challenges with mail delivery in my area, with packages being delayed and ultimately returned by the post office. Despite raising awareness about these issues, I have been reported and suspended for addressing them. The lack of empathy and understanding from other users is disappointing, as they prefer to maintain a facade of friendliness while enabling negative behavior. I hope to see improvements in the community guidelines and a more constructive approach to resolving conflicts on Nextdoor.

How did five to six community reviewers suddenly appear in the lead section within 12 hours of comments regarding a post's removal? The individuals who reported the posts have also been removed, and there is no transparency regarding who removed the posts or why. A lead's comment stating their vote was even taken down. The comment was neutral and only about themselves. No negative remarks were made in the post. The removal of seemingly harmless posts questions our right to free speech. The lack of information on post removals or the individuals behind it is concerning. Speculations about a local hacker arising due to the repeated post removals are troubling in our community.

Hello, my name is Mack Walls, and I have resided on Charmwood Drive in Gulf Coast Acres for over 20 years. I am also the overseer of Bolton Heights West subdivision and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hudson, where we are deeply involved in community initiatives like our food shelter and outreach programs. As a HAM radio operator with the call sign "W4MAC" and holding an Extra Class License from the FCC, I have actively assisted in coordinating storm evacuations and facilitating communication between shelters in times of crisis. I am currently exploring the establishment of a neighborhood watch program in our area. I have observed a lack of active leadership within Gulf Coast Acres and, after reaching out to the listed leads without success, I am eager to step into this role. As a concerned resident (C.R.) invested in our community's well-being, I am interested in assuming the responsibility of becoming a lead. Can you assist me in this matter, please?

Case Number: [redacted]9
Date Created: 9/23/[redacted]
Error Message Received: Regarding my name.
I recently encountered an issue with Mrs. M regarding our property taxes and my name. The situation escalated, and I have been feeling harassed and threatened. My property has been damaged, and I even found people near my yard stealing from neighbors, just 6 feet away from my bedroom window. Living alone, I feel frightened for my safety, especially after involving the police due to threats and property damage by a neighbor. The situation has left me feeling mistreated and taken advantage of by my neighbors, with seemingly little response from law enforcement. I have filed multiple police reports about these incidents. For safety reasons, I prefer to be known as "Poofy" rather than using my birth name.

I have reported a comment by Dennis Cook on a covid 19 post in Terre du Lac nextdoor because it contained offensive political remarks. Despite flagging it, the moderator seems to have overlooked it or deemed it acceptable. There have been past conflicts within our community, including the removal of the previous board president as our moderator. Now, Sharon Cathcart, a community resource, is embroiled in a lawsuit against the police and Association, advocating for replacing the police with security guards. Her close ties with Dennis Cook, who co-founded a group aiming to remove the police, raise concerns about bias and potential conflicts of interest. The delayed action on the reported comment has left me questioning the impartiality of the moderation given the ongoing tensions and personal issues at play.

I am Gail Miller from Coconut Grove, FL [redacted]. I requested to have threatening and slandering posts taken down on either October 10 or 11 with the subject "Cat Attack [redacted] Trapp Ave." My street number is posted, which violates your criteria, and my request has not been honored despite filling many of the rules for taking down posts. The threats to my cats and lies about me are putting my animals in harm's way. I have been unable to have my two 14-year-old cats go outside because of these posts. I have tried to make a second online request, but it was not accepted, saying a request was already made. If my request is not honored, my legal counsel will contact you. I respectfully request that you notify me once the posts have been taken down or provide a reason for not doing so. Your prompt response is expected. Thank you, Gail Miller.

Good afternoon, my name is B. McLain, and I have resided at [redacted] St. Gregory Street in Arlington, Texas for the past two decades. This address is where I receive my utility bills, file taxes from, and is listed on my driver's license. I am a long-standing member of NextDoor. I recently discovered that my account was disabled without justification. Based on a report from an unfamiliar individual named M. Dasch, it is alleged that I do not reside at my current address. This person made inappropriate remarks online, suggesting I live in unsanitary conditions. I suspect that J. Lemaux, my neighbor, may be involved in instigating this situation. I wish to address this matter through an appeal process if available. Thank you for your attention to this issue.

There is a disturbing situation with a lead named Stephen Tow in the [redacted] area of San Leandro/Oakland on Nextdoor. Stephen has been making divisive and racist posts targeting neighbors, leading to conflict within the community. His recent post wrongly labeled a neighbor as a white supremacist for displaying American Flag and police support flags outside their home, sharing their address publicly. This behavior has caused distress and now Stephen is threatening members who don't agree with him. It's clear he is not fostering a positive environment as a lead. Urgent action is needed to address these harmful actions and protect the community on Nextdoor.

I was a member of Nextdoor for over a decade using the name Kay Ervin and email [redacted] in two different homes. Recently, after getting married and relocating from Nashville to St. Charles, MO, I have been trying to set up a new account as Katy Ervin-King. However, I am facing issues as the system is holding on to my old details and not sending a postcard to verify my new address. Despite numerous attempts to resolve this, I am unable to access my old account or create a new one due to the email address association. Dealing with over [redacted] account changes during our move, Nextdoor has surprisingly been the most challenging one. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I signed up for the Sponsorship program and faced issues setting up my business page. Unfortunately, my business type doesn't qualify for Sponsorship, which was not indicated upfront. I am unable to request a refund as I don't have a business page, hindering me from cancelling as per the outlined procedure. Despite submitting three messages through the Contact Us form, I have received no response. As per the cancellation policy, refund requests should be within 14 days. My payment of $81.00 was processed on November 02, [redacted]. I initiated the Sponsorship process around October 30 or 31. The full refund amount I am seeking is $81.00, as there is an impending monthly charge of $87.00 if not cancelled. I discovered my ineligibility while navigating through the Help section, as Nextdoor failed to notify me directly.

Dear Next Door,
I would like to address the removal of my post "Community Security" on October 27 and the subsequent suspension of my account [redacted] located at [redacted] Harbor Circle, Alligator Point, Fl. [redacted].
I have several objections to the suspension:
- My post was a response to a previous post by the Alligator Point Volunteer Fire Department, where I was specifically named. I did not include any names in my reply and focused on public safety issues.
- Although a complaint was made that my post had been reposted multiple times with outdated information, each removal was due to erroneous complaints such as incorrect addresses and false names. The corrected post contained crucial community-related information.
- The content of my removed post is vital for the safety of residents in the area and is directly linked to the community.
- I believe the local Next Door representative has censored my previous post on the fire department unfairly, as he is associated with them. It would be best for him to abstain from handling fire department-related posts.
Thank you for your assistance.
Regards,
S.F.
