I sold an item on Mercari, but mistakenly sent the wrong one to the buyer. They agreed to return it through Mercari for a refund, so I could send the correct item. However, they didn't use Mercari's shipping label for the return, so I still have the funds, and they haven't received the item back.
The buyer still wants to purchase the item, but I can't relist it because they haven't completed the return properly within the 3-day timeframe provided. I tried to get their contact information to resolve this outside of the app, but my messages seeking their phone number were deleted due to Mercari's policy against sharing personal information.
I want the buyer to get their refund, but I am unable to process it outside of the app. My username on Mercari is daisyxp, and the item number is m[redacted]9. The user who didn't follow the return process is 04MyLove.

Hello, my name is Brittany R. and on Mercari, I go by justgirlythings. I wanted to address an issue regarding my ratings. Despite having twenty-four 5-star ratings, there is one outlier. Over two years ago, a user named Alison, who has no other activity on Mercari apart from my transaction, left me a one-star rating without explanation. I never received any communication from the buyer regarding the low rating. This rating concerns me, and I am hoping to resolve this matter so that it does not negatively impact my Mercari account.
Thank you for your assistance,
Brittany R.

I purchased Huggies diapers from a seller on the belief it was a full pack, but it turned out to be otherwise. I promptly tried to cancel the order the same day, before shipping, but the seller quickly marked it as shipped to mask the cancellation. Despite her actions, the item hasn't actually been sent as the USPS facility hasn't received it. I no longer need the item as it doesn't serve its intended purpose. The seller, Alyssa, has not shipped the product but still has my money and the item. Item ID: m[redacted]3.

I made a purchase four days ago but have not received any shipping details yet, and I need the item for an upcoming birthday. I am unhappy about the lack of information available for my order. The item is a Disney - [redacted] Dalmatians Metal Lunch Box bought from Geeks & Antiques. The item cost $4.00 with a shipping fee of $4.25, totaling $8.25 paid via card.

I purchased a phone that was listed with only a small crack and claimed to be unlocked. However, after the purchase, the seller added disclaimers about the phone not working. I specifically asked about any issues besides the screen crack, and he assured me there were none, mentioning that the phone was unlocked and had [redacted] GB storage. Following up with customer service, they mentioned initiating a refund even if the seller refused to cancel the order. I'm unsure if there are additional steps needed as I haven't received the package that was supposed to be canceled. My details are Keith T., reachable at [redacted] or [redacted] I am eager to know when I can expect to receive my refund.

Hello. I initially intended to purchase both a purse and a wristlet, but it seems I only received the wristlet. The listing showed both items, causing confusion. Following this, I contacted the seller as soon as I noticed the error. I inquired about canceling the order due to the misunderstanding, as I was under the impression I was buying a set. However, I have not received a response from the seller and they have already shipped the item. Is there a way to halt the shipment and arrange for it to be returned to the seller?

This is my first experience using Mercari. I took a chance and purchased headphones, but unfortunately, they arrived not working. Initially thinking it was the aux cord, I left a negative rating for the seller and bought a new cord. However, the issue persists. It seems the seller knowingly sold me faulty headphones, and I am seeking a return. I am open to receiving the refund as Mercari credit instead of back to my card. I still wish to purchase headphones but need reimbursement for this purchase. The seller should be held accountable for selling malfunctioning items and preventing my return with the negative rating I left. I was unaware I needed to request a return before leaving feedback.

I had a negative experience with a seller who stopped communicating after I made an offer on Mercari. The next day, they accused me of pestering them and bragged about selling the item elsewhere. This behavior seems against Mercari's rules. It was disappointing as I was simply trying to make a purchase. Sellers like this do not contribute to a positive marketplace environment and should be penalized for online harassment.

I am seeking information regarding the recent purchase made on March 2nd. I have not received any communication from the seller since then. I purchased an 11-cup KitchenAid food processor from Seller Cait18 on Mercari. After not hearing from the seller for 6 days, I messaged them through the app to inquire about shipping. Unfortunately, Cait18 canceled the order stating they were unable to ship the item, despite payment and negotiations. I am disappointed with this experience and want to rate the seller to warn others. Additionally, I am frustrated with Mercari holding my funds for 6 days, and now I have to wait an additional 5-10 days for the refund. I believe sellers who engage in such poor business practices should face consequences. It's also frustrating that once an item is paid for, it should be a final sale. Disappointed with the situation and Mercari's handling of it.

I recently experienced a scam where the buyer claimed they didn't receive the item despite the tracking showing it was delivered. When I asked them to check the tracking number, they stopped responding. They then falsely told the platform that I had sent an empty box. Although the receipt shows the box's weight, I had to pay extra for miscalculating it. I lost $[redacted] in this transaction, and the buyer disappeared after canceling the sale. They refused to contact the post office to investigate. It's frustrating how this situation unfolded, and I wish Mercari had considered the evidence of shipping weight and delivery more thoroughly.

I recently sold a pair of shoes on Mercari and upon delivery, the buyer claimed they were too big and showed signs of dirt and fading. The return was quickly approved without a thorough review. I agreed to accept the return, but now I am frustrated about potentially having to pay for the return shipping. The shoes were accurately represented in the listing, and I believe the buyer's main issue was simply that they did not fit. I am unhappy with the situation and hope to resolve it soon. I spent $16 on shipping originally, and I am unsure of the return shipping cost. I am considering leaving the platform if this issue is not addressed satisfactorily. I believe the buyer should consider relisting the item instead of returning it. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The seller originally sent the incorrect item, but the issue was resolved, and I received my Big Star Pioneer 29R jeans on 3/11/[redacted]. I paid $43 for them with my Amex card. The jeans were supposed to be gently worn and in great condition, but this wasn't the case. There is a 2 1/2-inch rip in the left knee, making the knee area very thin. After wearing and washing them a few times, I fear I'll need to have them patched up. I've tried calling Mercari multiple times today, waiting over an hour in total without speaking to anyone. I left a message after being transferred to voicemail. The jeans were not as described, and I don't want to deal with having them repaired. I am looking to get a refund. I do not have a Google account or the app.

I did not receive the product until today. It had the wrong address, but fortunately, my neighbor returned it. I was expecting a ZTE zMAX Telephone, but received a small Android phone instead. I have difficulties using small phones due to injuries on my hands. I have attached pictures of the small phone I received and the larger phones I used to have. The ones on the right are broken, which is why I needed a similar replacement.

I purchased a shirt for work last week and planned to receive it when it arrived, but I was away on a trip when it got delivered unexpectedly. My connecting flights were canceled, leaving me stranded at the airport for 12 hours. When I returned home and retrieved the package from the post office, I found a neon bikini bottom instead of the shirt I ordered. The seller messaged me apologizing for the mistake, explaining the mix-up with another customer. Unfortunately, by the time I could address this, the 48-hour window to rate the seller had passed and my payment was already released. I am disappointed as the bikini is not my size or preferred color, and I am unsure how to proceed since the payment has been made. I simply want a full refund or the correct item. Thank you for any assistance.

I'm Danny Crabtree. I bought a gaming PC on the Mercari app on March 12. The seller later canceled the sale, asking for extra shipping costs. I agreed and repurchased the item. After payment, I noticed the seller changed the description to say the PC is not working, although it wasn't mentioned in the original description. I have proof by taking a screenshot before the revision. I've requested a cancellation but received no response. Then, an email confirmation arrived stating the item shipped. I believe the seller acted dishonestly, and I don't want the faulty product. I seek a refund for the purchase. The item ID is m[redacted]2, and the seller is CustomSkinzz.

There has been a persistent issue with a seller offering counterfeit baseball cards at high prices for several months. Despite my efforts to flag the listings as counterfeit, the seller continues to list them. The seller now has a new account under the name jessi1111 and has already sold over $[redacted] worth of fake cards within a day. It is crucial for the platform to improve moderation to protect the credibility of the site. The recent sales made by jessi1111 must be thoroughly reviewed and potentially canceled to prevent customers from being scammed. As someone experienced in grading cards, I have been consistently flagging counterfeit listings without any action taken. I believe sellers caught selling fake items should be banned from the platform to prevent them from creating new accounts. The recent sales by jessi1111 are highly suspicious, with all items sold today at high prices likely being counterfeit.

I sold a "like new" silver iPhone 8 Plus to the buyer on March 1st, and it was ready to use. Despite the buyer's language barrier, I tried my best to assist them remotely. They requested a return on March 6th, which was approved on March 8th. However, I have not yet received the item back. I have reached out to Mercari multiple times without any response until days later, and even then, they were unhelpful. Feeling scammed and frustrated, it has been two weeks since the initial purchase. I have involved my attorney to address this issue. I strongly believe the buyer should not be eligible for a return. Any assistance on your end would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I recently sold a Dress Barn dress to a customer. Shortly after the purchase, the buyer asked for the measurements, which I didn't have initially but promptly provided the next day. Despite sending three messages that day with the measurements, I received no response. I shipped the item the following day and informed the buyer, yet still received no reply. The buyer claimed the size 16W dress I sent was actually a size 12, which I find unlikely as I wear a size 14. I advised her to contact Mercari for a return if she wasn't satisfied. She then made false claims about having spoken to customer service through a chat app, which Mercari does not have. She now wants to return the item outside of the app and exchange it, despite Mercari not supporting exchanges. I am hesitant to block her to maintain my good feedback but continue to handle the situation politely while standing firm on not agreeing to a refund. I discovered her lies about contacting Mercari after she stated she had spoken to them, which I didn't do.

I recently bought an Off-White belt that was supposed to be authentic, only to find out it wasn't genuine when it arrived. I asked for a refund but missed the 3-day return window by a day. I can now print a return label, and it's been 4 days, so I'm hoping for a solution. I just want to return the belt for a refund and prevent the seller from deceiving others with fake products. I'm a frequent Mercari user and hope for your assistance. If not, I've contacted my credit card company, who is willing to refund me, leaving me with the unwanted belt that you've already paid for.
