I am extremely disappointed with the recent experience I had with the company, particularly regarding the investigation carried out three weeks ago. My boyfriend received an email inviting him to a 3-day trial on Match.com, which he joined without my knowledge. I found out through friends who saw his profile and confronted him about it. Despite reporting the issue to Match.com, they failed to delete his profile, and instead, he upgraded to a subscription under private mode. This led to the end of our relationship due to his commitment issues and past family problems. Match.com even deleted my inactive account while keeping his, causing further frustration. I joined this website on Monday, but I've had a really negative experience. Despite providing detailed information in my profile, I've received messages from over 50 people who don't match my preferences at all. Many of them are much older, of different races, and there are even a couple of women. Around 80% of the messages come from people who give me a creepy feeling, some even look like criminals. It's been really disappointing, and I haven't had any success yet. I paid $75 to sign up, which I now regret. How can I remove these unwanted contacts from my computer? I encountered an ad on my computer screen that claimed to be free. Despite not intending to sign up, being 80 years old and not skilled at using computers, on February 27, [redacted], my bank account was charged £39.99 by Match. I attempted to reach Match through my bank and BT, but was unsuccessful in speaking to a person to cancel the account. Lacking setup details, I have been unable to access the account, resulting in Match charging me 4 times. I earnestly request for you to cancel the authorization to debit my bank account and return the 4 payments of £39.99. Eric, a new member on Match, was strange. I encountered him on Catholic Match, where he claimed to be from Italy. I sent him an Italian song, and he responded that he didn't understand because he doesn't speak Spanish. It became clear he was dishonest. He shared his phone number: [redacted]. As we chatted, I sensed he was hiding something. Catholic Match later emailed me that Eric's account was suspended due to suspicious activity. I have his picture, matching the one on Match. Since December [redacted], I have not actively participated or logged into Match.com. However, on two separate occasions, Match.com has mistakenly used my credit card information without authorization and charged my account for unwanted subscription renewals.
I want the chance to use the two six-month subscription renewals that I have already paid for but not used. Hello! I am unsure about my subscription details as my original plan was supposed to end today. After stumbling upon a promotional offer shortly after, I seem to have accidentally extended my subscription for another 6 months instead of just adding a few months as I had initially planned. I want to understand what I've signed up for and make sure there are no automatic renewals or additional charges via PayPal.
I believed I was just increasing my subscription by a small increment but it appears I have paid for an additional 6 months which could become costly if not terminated on time. I would appreciate clarification on this matter.
Furthermore, the quality of matches I have been receiving recently seems subpar, and I am concerned about the high number of contacts who do not match my preferences or are significantly older, residing in distant locations. I have been skipping or deleting such profiles, but it's unsettling.
Thank you for any assistance you can offer. Historically, although infrequently, I have had positive experiences on Match, meeting compatible matches. I hope this trend continues, especially if I am now committed to another 6 months.
