The following are issues that customers reported to GetHuman about LinkedIn customer service, archive #96. It includes a selection of 20 issue(s) reported March 19, 2020 onward. If you have a similar customer service issue, this page will help you find current, up-to-date answers and solutions too.
I recently filed a DBA in California to legally use my business name, which also happens to be my birth or maiden name. When signing up with your service, I believed it was acceptable. Now, there seems to be a discrepancy. My Facebook account was hacked, then suspended. To regain access, I provided them with my birth certificate, a copy of my credit card displaying both my name and business name, my seller's permit, and some photos. Facebook restored my account, only to place it on hold again today due to suspicious activity. Now, you are raising the same concern, which I find unnecessary. Given that I am a painting artist, having different names for my business can be confusing. I complied with all legal requirements. I am unsure what the issue is and seek guidance on how to resolve it.

Hello, I am looking for the appropriate email address to address our situation. I represent the San Diego Engineering Council. During one of our meetings, a member of the public offered to create a LinkedIn page for us. This person has no affiliation with our organization but claimed to be a board member on the page they created and kept ownership of it. We do not have access to the login information, and our members have alerted us that this individual posted misleading content unrelated to our organization. Our concern is how we can take ownership of the page or have the impostor remove it. The page in question is the "San Diego Engineering Council" being managed by Francis Cappello.

Hi Uwe,
Thank you for your message and choosing the free trial Business Premium offer. I understand that you actually intended to use the Sales Navigator with a free trial instead. I see that there has been a mix-up resulting in a paid yearly membership, which was not your plan. Your employer is currently exploring ways to enhance the team's use of LinkedIn, and you were hoping to do so with the free trial. I appreciate your situation and will work on correcting this matter promptly. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
Best regards,
Uwe Weidmann

Hello, I would like to bring attention to a matter regarding an individual on LinkedIn impersonating a doctor affiliated with Doctors Without Borders in Turkey/Syria. This person goes by the name Dr. Ray Johnson MD. Despite claiming to be associated with the organization, he confessed to me that he is not who he claims to be. He is soliciting money from individuals, especially women, under false pretenses, asking for funds to terminate his supposed contract so he can return home to his daughter. I have already informed MSF/DWB about this issue, but he still maintains a presence on LinkedIn, targeting unsuspecting victims. Furthermore, I tried to verify his existence in Houston, TX, but found no trace of him. Additionally, he has an accomplice in Sacramento, CA, posing as a UN representative, which is also fabricated. This individual alleges to be of Brazilian heritage with a Latin accent to deceive others. While he may have followers, it is crucial to recognize that this is a scam. Please investigate this matter further, as it is similar to scams highlighted by Dr. Phil and documented on the MSF website. Thank you for your attention to this concern. - Kate M.

I wanted to try out LinkedIn's Marketplace to hire associates in Philadelphia. I realized my PayPal account was linked, which was unexpected. I used a prepaid MasterCard with a small balance to place an ad for $6, expecting it to stop after one day. However, I was surprised to receive a $[redacted]+ bill a month later, charged through my PayPal without my consent. I believe this is unfair, especially considering the minimal results from the ad. LinkedIn even attempted to charge me for a second day, deducting it from my bank account linked to PayPal. This unexpected amount is burdensome for me as a small advertiser. I'm unable to get assistance from PayPal without addressing the issue with LinkedIn first, although I prefer to avoid involving them. I hope someone reading this can provide guidance on this matter.

I am having trouble logging into my LinkedIn account. Recently, I received an unusual login request while I was already logged in, which alerted me to potential hacking. After changing my password as per LinkedIn's request, my account was restricted. Despite providing my passport for identification, LinkedIn is not accepting the upload due to an alleged error. I have followed all of LinkedIn's instructions, and now I need the account restrictions removed so I can access my account again. I strongly believe that the hacking of my LinkedIn account is a serious issue, especially during the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hello,
I am Tim Gibson, the VP of Operations at Appenx, Inc. I took control of our company's Linkedin page recently to update it. There are some ex-employees still listed as current employees that need to be removed, such as Michael Navis, Ann Piteau (listed twice), Bryan Cumiskey, Joy Dokter, Laura Orean, and Dave McGinn. Additionally, our current employee Mark Homkes is not connected to our page for some reason, and I'd like to address that issue.
If you have any questions or need further information, you can contact me at [redacted] or email me at [redacted] I have attempted to use the Linkedin contact us page without success. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Subject: Request to Remove Duplicate Account
Dear LinkedIn Team,
I recently discovered that I have multiple accounts and need to urgently delete one that I created prior to my retirement in [redacted].
I kindly request the deletion of the account under the name Hugh James Graham from Vancouver, the Chairman and CEO of ArtVentive Medical Group, Inc. Removing this account, which I unintentionally overlooked, poses a corporate challenge for my company. Unfortunately, during my attempts to address this issue, I mistakenly deactivated my current personal account under the name H.J. (Jim) Graham, which is now reinstated as Jim Graham.
I would appreciate it if you could promptly delete the Hugh James Graham account and provide confirmation of its removal. This will allow me to inform my company promptly.
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
H.J. (Jim) Graham

I recently reactivated my Premium Service with the understanding that I would be notified before the free period ended. However, I did not receive any notification, and now I have been charged for April without warning. This was unexpected and I am disappointed with how it has been handled. I would like to cancel my Premium Linkedin Service due to this issue and would appreciate prompt assistance. Thank you.

Dear Support Team,
I am facing an issue with removing a credit card from my account. The system prompts me to cancel a subscription first, but when I visit the 'Manage My Account' section, it does not indicate that I am subscribed to any plan or premium account.
The credit card used belongs to my boss and has been charged an unreasonable amount of USD$85.25 for only 6 days of service, during which I received just 3 unqualified candidates. Not being able to remove the credit card is frustrating.
I have tried following the steps provided by LinkedIn on Google but am unable to find the necessary options on the page.
I am seeking a resolution for the following:
1. A refund due to unsatisfactory service and high charges for minimal results.
2. The removal of the credit card from my account.
I appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter promptly.
Thanks,
Eloise

I am experiencing difficulty updating my LinkedIn email address after leaving my previous company where I worked for 12 years. The platform requires a confirmation email to be sent to my old work email, to which I no longer have access. This situation seems impractical, as I am unable to retrieve the confirmation email. Should no resolution be provided, I am considering closing my account as a last resort.

I was unaware that I needed to cancel the subscription manually after the 1-month free trial. I attempted to use the "review my account" option, but upon doing so, they quickly reviewed my account and mentioned that no issue was found with the charge, hence no refund would be processed. The billing took place on April 6, and I reached out for a refund on April 8 without utilizing any of the services offered. I'm puzzled as to why they are unable to refund the amount.

On April 4th, I deleted my account, and now I would like to recover it. When I attempted to recover my account, I was directed to sign in through my Gmail account. However, this process seemed to create a new account instead of restoring my old one. As a result, I deleted the new account. Despite my efforts to recover my original account, my email ([redacted]) is not being recognized as linked to an existing account. Thank you for addressing this matter.

I have a LinkedIn account under the name of Nikolay Yordanov, but unfortunately, I am unable to access it because the login method was linked to a phone number that I have lost. The account is now requesting a verification code, and I do not have a backup email. Is there a way to unlock my account or add a new email/phone number? I am willing to provide any necessary documentation, such as a government-issued ID and photos, to prove my ownership of the account. The connections I have made on this account are essential to me, so unlocking it is a top priority. Thank you for your help.

Hello, I'm Michelle Honeycutt, and I am reaching out to address an issue with my LinkedIn account. Approximately a month ago, I availed of a free trial to expand my reach for a job opportunity. Despite my belief that I had canceled the subscription before the trial ended, I discovered a charge on my PayPal account yesterday. I promptly canceled my LinkedIn account to rectify the situation. I would like to inquire if it's possible to receive a refund of the $66 that was charged. Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,

On the 9th of March [redacted], I signed up for a free trial of the Premium Services. During the registration process, I provided my debit card details for the auto-debit feature after the trial period ends. It was promised that I would receive a notification three days before the auto-debit date, allowing me to cancel the subscription if needed. However, I did not receive any notification, and my account was charged Rs.[redacted] without prior notice. This lack of communication is disappointing, especially during the financial challenges of the current pandemic. I am requesting a refund and urgent attention to this matter. Thank you.

On April 10th, while using Sales Navigator on Chrome to find leads, I faced continuous logouts. Despite clearing my cache, updating my OS, and following help page instructions, I couldn't stay logged into Linkedin. Switching to Internet Explorer was slow. Occasionally, when searching for a company on Linkedin, the results wouldn't show, but a Google search (company name, Linkedin) displayed it. Any guidance on what I may be doing incorrectly here would be appreciated.
Thank you
