The following are issues that customers reported to GetHuman about Hulu customer service, archive #38. It includes a selection of 20 issue(s) reported April 22, 2022 onward. If you have a similar customer service issue, this page will help you find current, up-to-date answers and solutions too.
Today, Hulu functioned correctly until this evening (04/21/22) when I encountered a "We're having trouble streaming this right now" message in the middle of a show. Despite attempting to resolve the issue by exiting and reopening Hulu on two different TV's, I kept receiving a "NETWORK ERROR. If this problem persists, go to www.hulu.com/help" message. I use Roku and attempted to troubleshoot by unplugging and plugging back in the box to no avail. Visiting www.hulu.com/help to chat under "streaming problems," I encountered difficulty seeing the bottom of the customer info box, preventing me from clicking the "send" button. Additionally, I noticed that both the "CHAT" and "TELEPHONE CALL" options were marked as "UNAVAILABLE." This lack of customer service support is frustrating as I am paying for a service that is currently not being provided effectively. I am requesting a partial refund for the fee paid for April.

I believed I had canceled the $75 Live TV package on Hulu and returned to my original $14.99 monthly subscription 4 to 5 months ago after speaking with a customer service representative who guided me through the process. Despite not accessing Live TV services on my devices and not seeing any evidence of the $75 subscription, Hulu has been deducting the amount from my account for the last four months, as per my bank statement. Can Hulu review my account to verify that I have been using the $14.99 no ad service, not the $75 Live TV package, and process a refund for the past few months? Additionally, can they switch my subscription back to the $14.99 monthly plan, as I intended to do online previously?

I've been attempting to log in to my Hulu account. I have the Disney Bundle and even after trying to reset the password for Hulu, I'm still unable to access it. I also attempted to upgrade to an ad-free account, even though I didn't want to, but that didn't work either. I wish to have my account settings restored to how they were before I encountered this issue with Hulu. Should my password be the same for Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and Hulu?

I signed up for a Hulu offer on May 15th around early morning NZ time. An unauthorized charge of $1.67 appeared on May 16th, followed by a $[redacted].34 charge just 5 days later from Dietzonez. This is not aligned with the deal displayed on the Hulu website when I signed up. Despite joining on May 15th, I have received no emails about any changes to the offer or Hulu's availability in New Zealand. I am requesting a full refund as I only subscribed to Hulu and have evidence of the original offer. I have already cancelled my credit card and can provide my checking account details for the refund. I have informed my bank and will escalate this to a fraud complaint and involving the police if the money is not returned promptly.

I am inquiring about the unauthorized charges made by Hulu to my account earlier today. Two separate charges were made, one for 33.91 and another for 7.40, both of which were for services that had already been canceled. I had canceled the HBO/Max subscription as well as the free trial channels on Hulu, but these charges still went through. I initially signed up for a $1.10 per month Hulu trial on May 23, [redacted], and was correctly charged on June 22, [redacted]. However, the additional charge on July 15, [redacted], for 7.40 is confusing as it was not part of the agreed-upon terms. This unauthorized billing has caused my account to go into the negative for the first time ever, which is unacceptable. I urgently request a refund of 33.91 and 7.40 for the canceled services. I demand immediate action from Hulu to rectify this situation promptly, as it has created unnecessary financial stress.

I am experiencing challenges with your advertising policies. I believe that democracies should be permitted to showcase ads that reveal the truth about their opponents. On January 6th, it is essential to shed light on what the Republican Party did to harm our nation in order to educate those who are indifferent to the well-being of our democracy. Failure to air such ads would imply complicity in attempts to subvert the government and partake in treason. I have gathered a group of over [redacted] individuals who plan to boycott your channel and Disney due to your refusal to broadcast information about the events and individuals connected to the Republican Party. It is my strong opinion that ads from the Republican Party, known for their consistent deceit, should not be accepted. If Donald Trump decides to run for President again, he should be prohibited from running campaign ads on any platform due to his treasonous actions. It seems apparent that your company leans towards supporting the Republican Party, prioritizing falsehoods over truth. It appears that you are selective with the issues you allow to be presented publicly, favoring certain topics while neglecting important political truths. I am a former Republican who was disappointed by Trump's leadership. It was disheartening to read in a Philadelphia Magazine article quotes from a professor at University of Pennsylvania describing Trump as one of the least intellectually-gifted students they had ever encountered. I urge your company to decide whether it stands with democracy or authoritarianism.

I have been experiencing issues with streaming MSNBC on HULU for quite some time now. The channel frequently buffers, displaying an error message indicating playback problems and eventually crashing, prompting me to exit and re-enter the channel. This has been happening multiple times daily, and strangely, it only occurs with this specific channel. Despite sharing my concerns on HULU's community forums over the past couple of years, I have not seen any solutions offered by HULU. Even after following troubleshooting steps advised by HULU support, such as reinstalling the app and checking for updates, the problem persists. Given that this problem is isolated to one channel, it seems to be an issue with HULU itself. I am curious as to why this ongoing issue with MSNBC has not been resolved by HULU's team.

I have noticed a problem with the Naruto Shippuden dub. When reaching Season 7 Episode #[redacted], the dub stops and switches to only subtitled episodes. I kindly request for the dub of Season 7 to be re-uploaded and for the dubs of Seasons 8 and 9 to be added as well. It would be great if all seasons were available in dub for anime fans like myself to enjoy. Thank you.

I've been watching Naruto Shippuden for a few months now and noticed that the dubbed episodes stop at Season 7, Episode #[redacted]. Afterwards, only subtitled episodes are available. Can a request be made to re-upload the dubbed episodes for Season 7 and upload the dubbed episodes for Seasons 8 and 9 as well? It's important to have the dubs available for all anime fans who want to watch Naruto Shippuden. Thank you.

I have already conversed with a representative regarding a refund of $17.26 that was meant to be issued back to my original payment source. The refund was supposed to be adjusted to a student discount as my daughter had completed the verification process for the $1.99 Hulu student deal. I am inquiring why the refund has not been processed and if the issue has been resolved to reflect the correct price for future billing at $1.99. If the matter has not been rectified, we wish to cancel our subscription. I had believed the problem was resolved after spending hours on the phone, but it seems the refund and account changes haven't been successfully implemented as per the representative's assurance at the time. Please inform us if we should proceed with cancelling or if the problem has been corrected in the system to avoid erroneous billing going forward. Due to financial constraints, we cannot afford the $17.26 charge for TV currently, hence the urgent need for resolution. Thank you. - K. Orr (email: [redacted])

I initiated a free trial on 8/27, but before confirming, I switched from a trial with ads to one without. Despite receiving an email confirming the free trial, I was surprised to receive two extra weeks with ads at no cost right before the trial was ending. Upon reviewing my credit card statement, I noticed a $15 charge from Hulu on the day the trial began. After a lengthy call with Hulu support, I learned that canceling the initial transaction for the 'with ads' account caused the system to interpret it as my free trial, resulting in a new account when I signed up for the ad-free option. The support agent, though helpful, was unable to resolve the issue, even after requesting a supervisor. I believe I am still within the free trial period and request a refund of the $15 charge to my credit card.

I paused my subscription, but when trying to restart it, I was prompted to reset my password. Despite checking my email and spam folder, I couldn't find the reset password link. I then discovered my husband has a separate Hulu account, and my college student son pays $1.99 for his. Though I pay $7.99 for four users, perhaps I should get a discount or special deal for being a loyal customer for over four years. I wonder if multiple people trying to access Hulu in the house might affect my account. I find Hulu to be a relaxing escape, especially when stressed, so any assistance in resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

I am dissatisfied with the content in "The Rookie: Feds" as I find it overly liberal and disheartening. While I enjoy "The Rookie," introducing transgender, homosexual, and bisexual characters in "The Rookie: Feds" is tarnishing its reputation. I believe there are more profitable ways to create content without pushing the LGBT+ agenda. A significant portion of the audience consists of straight individuals with morals, Christians, and other religious or conservative viewers. It is essential to consider this majority rather than catering to a smaller demographic. Upholding Godly morals and staying true to traditional values is crucial for maintaining viewership and staying true to societal norms. I suggest revising the script and storyline direction of both "The Rookie" and "The Rookie: Feds" to appeal to a broader audience. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I would like to cancel my subscription. I contacted Hulu through chat at 11:45 PM and clearly stated my desire to cancel, explaining my reasons for doing so. Despite numerous messages sent, I have not received a response, which is extremely frustrating. I am even recording a video of the lack of response to share my experience. This level of customer service is unacceptable. I urgently need to speak with a representative.

I'm attempting to sign up for Hulu, but it's saying I can't do the trial because I'm supposedly signed up with Disney programs, which I am not. I resolved a billing issue earlier this year, and I haven't signed up for Hulu recently. I'm trying to get the $1.99 promo for 12 months, but it's saying I'm not eligible. I tried to sign up a few days ago but got sick and had to stop. Can you clarify why I'm being prevented from signing up? My roommate is the one with the Disney Plus account, not me. If I can't get the promo, I'll contact my state's Attorney General tomorrow. Also, please stop pushing me to use a Gmail account I don't really use.

I recently subscribed to Hulu, but upon downloading it on my TV, the app only recognized my landlord as "Jolene" and displayed a message saying, "Hi Jolene. It looks like you're far from home." I have attempted various troubleshooting steps, such as deleting the app from my devices, turning off and unplugging the TV, but the issue persists. Unfortunately, even after spending an hour and a half on the phone with customer service, my problem remains unresolved. I was also charged $49.00 for this frustrating experience. I would appreciate any assistance in resolving this issue.

I subscribed to Hulu on 11/28 but haven't been able to use it yet. Unfortunately, the TV I share with my landlord keeps recognizing her account instead of letting me set up mine. A message saying “Hi Jolene. It looks like you’re not at home” keeps appearing, even after I tried unplugging the TV and deleting the app. I'm eager to watch football today and would appreciate any suggestions to resolve this issue.

I was charged for the Hulu + Disney+ bundle at $12 but couldn't log into my Disney account. I canceled that subscription and was offered the Hulu, Disney, and ESPN bundle for an additional $1.70. I then canceled that and opted for just the $8 Hulu subscription. I believe I should receive a refund of approximately $3 to $5. Please review my account and process the refund. I only want the Hulu subscription with ads for $7.99 going forward. Please ensure all other bundles or subscriptions are canceled.

I have been charged for 2 different accounts for the past 21 months on my card ending in [redacted]. My current HULU account is under [redacted] The incorrect account is [redacted] I spoke with a customer service representative named Tim who confirmed the double billing. He mentioned that I could only be refunded for 4 payments and would need to dispute the rest with my bank. When I asked for documentation, he said it wasn't available. He mentioned an Interaction number but without access to call notes or a transcript. This was unhelpful. Tim accidentally canceled my current HULU subscription along with the erroneous one, leaving me unable to watch my shows. He suggested creating a new account. I'm disappointed with the service; I've lost over $[redacted] without a satisfactory resolution or compensation.
