I recently signed up as a Handy Pro and was offered my first job, a lawn mowing gig, for $87.50 for 3.5 hours of work with a $[redacted] bonus. They described the lawn as "X-large," which seemed vague, but I estimated it to be around an acre. Upon investigating further with the provided address, I found out the property is actually 2.84 acres, much larger than their initial estimate. Despite trying to reach out to them for clarification, I've received no response. I am hesitant to proceed with the job now. I provided my bank information, and I hope they won't misuse it. Dealing with this lack of communication is frustrating, and I don't want to be involved in any potential issues.

I live in the small community of Staren Island, NY, and value my safety. I prefer to remain anonymous in this complaint against the cleaner who visited my home to avoid any possible confrontation. Despite arriving 15 minutes early, she used her own used mop and sponges instead of the ones I provided. I specifically asked her not to clean a certain area, but she disregarded my request and placed heavy items on my sentimental treadmill. My husband felt uneasy as she frequently left to use her phone in her car. The cleaning ended over an hour early, lacking a deep clean and leaving me to disinfect after her. I paid for professional service and expected better. I am concerned about encountering her again, hence my desire for anonymity. I had to cancel a booking due to Covid-19 concerns and was disappointed by the lack of professionalism.

I had a scheduled appointment for a professional to assemble an entertainment center at 2 pm on April 15. Unfortunately, I did not receive any communication about the professional not showing up. Contacting Handy only resulted in automated responses. When I reached out to the office of the professional at 2:55 pm, the representative mentioned contacting the professional but never followed up. Despite my efforts to reach out to Handy with this information, I only received automated replies. A meager ten-dollar credit was offered, which is unacceptable given the nearly $[redacted] cost. I am not interested in rescheduling and do not want a credit; I demand a full refund.

Daniel was scheduled to arrive on Saturday, 4/17, at 7:30 pm to assemble the grill purchased through Walmart. Although he claims to have knocked on the door at 7:24 and 7:26, I did not hear him. At 7:29, I positioned myself to ensure I would hear him if he came. Daniel waited in his car for 30 minutes before leaving. It is unclear why he did not knock at 7:30 as agreed. He marked the job as complete without doing anything and promised to return today at 1 pm, but did not show up. Unfortunately, I cannot reach out to him through the app. Should I escalate this issue to Walmart? Urgently need assistance in assembling the grill. Your guidance is appreciated.

I purchased an adjustable bed base from Walmart and prepaid $59 for installation. The setup was supposed to happen on February 27th, [redacted], at 9 am. I waited but received no communication from the installation person. Despite trying to reach out via the app, calls, and emails, I did not get a response. I missed an appointment that I had been waiting 3 weeks for and got the run-around. They finally agreed to refund the $59, but I have not seen it reflected on my credit card yet. I signed up for a biweekly cleaning service, but Handy canceled twice due to emergencies. They automatically rescheduled, but failed to show up or communicate about the delays. Two months ago, I placed an order for a large entertainment center from Wayfair and arranged for assembly through handy. Unfortunately, during assembly, it was discovered that Wayfair hadn't provided all the necessary pieces, leaving the job incomplete. Despite waiting for a month for the missing parts, they never arrived. Subsequently, I canceled the Wayfair order for a full refund, and handy reimbursed the service cost for the incomplete job. I then reordered the entertainment center from Home Depot and booked assembly through handy's website. I am experiencing issues updating my payment information. Despite informing a representative last week, the problem persists. I am incorrectly being charged for jobs I did not book or canceled, including bookings in Alpharetta, which is over 25 miles away. I have not received any payments yet. Also, I am being charged $50 per cancellation for jobs I did not schedule. My payment update remains under review, preventing me from completing these jobs. I am disappointed by the lack of detailed information provided for the jobs before we accept them. Penalizing us for incomplete information is unfair. It's essential to disclose all the job requirements upfront so we can make an informed decision. Some jobs turn out to be more substantial than what customers initially describe. It's unjust for our ratings to suffer due to this. Additionally, the frequent discounts offered to customers seem inappropriate. Cleaning multiple rooms like 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, den, and living room for $80 to $90 undervalues our work. I recently cleaned a house with 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, kitchen, game rooms, living room, dining room, laundry room, and baseboards for only $90. It is challenging considering we supply our cleaning materials and cover transportation costs. Fair compensation for our efforts and ensuring accurate information from customers is crucial for a positive experience for both parties.

I was hired by Sharon to fix a water leak issue. Upon arrival, her son directed me to the hot water heater where the leak seemed to originate. After checking under the house, I found the leak was in the wall near new red and white pipes. Despite pointing this out, the son insisted I was wrong and accused me of lying, ultimately kicking me out. Later, I discovered the pipes were incorrectly installed, causing potential danger with the water heater. This morning, I had a client for a property cleaning job with four bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two staircases, and a kitchen. I encountered difficulty with the client's personal items left in the main bathroom and master bathroom counters, on the floor, and in the kitchen. Despite the client saying she never booked the service herself, I proceeded with the cleaning. I requested the removal of the personal items to properly disinfect those areas. The client initially agreed but later refused the service, claiming I decided not to do the job. She needs to cancel the appointment on her end to avoid penalizing me. Help with resolving this misunderstanding would be greatly appreciated to maintain my high rating.

I always make sure to arrive early at my client's homes to prepare for the work ahead. I send a text message two hours before our meeting, followed by a phone call one hour before I arrive. I typically reach the location at least 30 minutes early to conduct a thorough walk-through and secure my tools. In a recent situation, despite the client informing me she wouldn't be home until exactly 12:00 p.m., I still arrived promptly and prepared. Upon arrival, I noticed the hardwood floors and the two rugs she had, even though I had all the necessary equipment for the job. Despite the client seeming unwelcoming and possibly not liking me, I always strive to offer a professional service and be upfront about expectations. I believe honesty and clear communication are key in these situations, even if the client prefers to cancel for personal reasons.

Once loaded onto the truck, the furniture needs to be transported to Kohl's, about a mile and a half away, where I will unload it and request a refund for items sent by Amazon without authorization.
