Hello, I'm currently using H&R Block for my taxes this year. I initially chose the "Plus" option to have access to live chat assistance from agents. I reached out for help, but after being promised a phone call to address my issue, I never received one. When I contacted them again, the agent had no record of our previous conversation. Despite this, they were able to help me resolve my question. However, when I was ready to file my taxes, I was surprised to see that an additional $69.99 charge for the "ask a tax pro" chat was added on top of the $29.99 I already paid for the basic chat service I used.
I kindly request prompt resolution of this matter since $[redacted].99 is too expensive. If not resolved, I may have to consider using alternative software even though it offers a lower refund, simply because it would be more cost-effective.

I was charged for a deluxe form although I intended to file for free. As a current full-time student claimed as a dependent by my parent, my income does not meet the requirements to file. According to H&R Block's support resources, I only need to file if my income exceeds specific amounts, none of which apply to my situation. I would like the charges removed from my account so I can file next year without unnecessary expenses.

I submitted our tax documents through TaxPro on April 3rd. Following their advice, I arranged a phone consultation for the next day. However, the scheduled time passed with no call. After contacting the person, I received a call back five hours later, and they mentioned they would start working on our files that night or the next day.
An email sent on April 6th informed us that they had begun the process. Despite this, when I inquired about an update on the 12th, I did not receive a response. Today, on April 14th, David messaged me saying he is just commencing our return and requires additional documents, some of which were already uploaded when I attempted to file our taxes on H&R Turbo on the 3rd.
It is disheartening to receive such inadequate tax assistance with minimal communication, especially considering the looming deadline. Unless we fulfill last-minute requirements, our return will be delayed.

I recently purchased the CA state software via a disc, but it did not download successfully. Despite my attempts to reinstall it, I keep getting prompted to repurchase without an option to redownload. I tried using disk utility and downloaded an update from the website, but it requires the software to already be installed. I’ve reached out to customer service multiple times without success. I am extremely frustrated with the time and money I’ve wasted on this issue. I spent hours troubleshooting initially and more time waiting on hold. I even tried using the GetHuman service, but it hasn’t resulted in a call back yet. This has been a very frustrating experience, and I would appreciate a callback to resolve this matter.

I use a Mac with Mojave and purchased “H&R Block Tax Software Deluxe + State [redacted] with 5% Refund Bonus Offer [Amazon Exclusive] [Mac Download]” on Amazon. The update for the Federal from the software didn't work, and I had to manually download the latest version from the H&R Block website. The process was difficult and involved backtracking. The "GoTo" link on the imported information review page didn't function properly, and even though I purchased the Deluxe version which includes the state, the program prompted me to pay for the state. I'm currently on hold for assistance. Additionally, I had trouble searching for specific worksheets like the dividend summary directly.

I recently purchased the [redacted] Premium + State program and discovered an error in the Business Income Deduction on the Ohio state return. After contacting customer service, a representative acknowledged the software issue and opened a case with Case ID [redacted]. The problem lies in the inability to deduct capital gains and losses in Ohio's $[redacted],[redacted] allowable business deduction. Additionally, the program incorrectly calculates the deduction as 75% of business income instead of [redacted]% of the first $[redacted],[redacted]. Despite assurances of a callback, I did not receive one and opted not to use the Premium state program due to these issues. I am requesting a refund for the tax software and urge for a resolution to the problem for future usability.

For the past two decades, I have been a loyal H&R Block customer. Unfortunately, this year, due to my hectic work schedule, I was unable to secure an appointment in time. I decided to utilize the free H&R Block link on the IRS website. While attempting to E-file, I realized I needed my AGI from last year, which I cannot locate since I recently moved. I tried reaching out via phone to no avail and also had issues setting up an account on the IRS site due to my credit card number not being recognized. Last year, I filed my taxes at the H&R Block office located at the Greater Butler Mart on Pittsburgh Rd in Butler, PA, where I paid a significant amount for their services. I kindly request assistance in obtaining my AGI promptly as I need to file by tomorrow. Additionally, speaking to a real person instead of navigating through voice recognition software would greatly benefit me. Thank you for your understanding.

I am frustrated with attempting to file my tax return with H&R Block this year. Despite multiple efforts, my return was rejected due to "AGI or 5-digit signature" issues. I followed advice from an H&R Block representative on April 12th to create a new account, confirmed my AGI, and created new 5-digit signatures. However, my return was rejected again. The lack of clear explanation and resolution from H&R Block has led me to consider filing my taxes manually in the future. I am currently using your online tax filing service. I have been surprised to find that I owe a significant amount in taxes, which I cannot afford based on my income. We recently had our taxes prepared by the H&R Block office in Stamford, CT, where we are long-time customers. Unfortunately, an error was made during the process, causing significant stress due to incorrect information about our federal taxes. After seeking assistance elsewhere, our H&R Block representative identified the mistake upon reevaluation and offered a $40 discount for the error. We expressed our dissatisfaction, leading to involvement from a manager who explained they couldn't offer further discounts. Despite the manager's explanation, we paid $[redacted] for our filing. I reached out to H&R Block's customer support live chat after being informed by the NY State about qualifying for free tax filing through the Free File Alliance. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely frustrating and unhelpful. The support agent, Ghislene M., provided unclear information stating that to access free filing for my state, I must do it through the New York State Department of Revenue and not H&R Block's website. This was confusing as I was already on the NYS Dept of Revenue page before getting redirected to H&R Block. Despite waiting for an hour, the support provided was unsatisfactory, and I ended up having to pay for my state return instead of utilizing the free service as promised. Additionally, Ghislene M. abruptly ended the chat after their vague response, leaving me without the chance to seek further clarification.

Last Wednesday, April 10th, I visited the Brentwood, CA office to complete my taxes. When checking out, I was informed of system issues with the credit card machine. They asked for payment via check or cash. I took the electronic signature authorization form home, returned with a check, but it was declined. My bank stated the credit card payment went through, showing a pending transaction. After emailing the bank the pending transaction, they requested the approved one. I sent it, and they assured me the taxes would be filed. Despite paying over $[redacted], my taxes remain unfiled as of April 15. The office cites a system problem, but I expect the service I paid for to be completed.

I had a frustrating experience with my tax filing at H&R Block due to errors made by the receptionist and office manager, Radu Luican. Despite scheduling an appointment online for March 24th, there was no record of it at my local branch. Opting for drop-off services, my husband and I then arranged to sign on April 2nd at 6 PM. An issue arose during checkout when we were charged for another client's return. After rectifying the payment, both our tax accountant and the receptionist informed the office manager of the error. However, on the brink of the filing deadline, we discovered that our taxes were halted because the office manager rejected our second payment. As a result of these oversights, we are submitting our taxes on April 15th for the first time late, feeling disappointed with our long-standing patronage. We have decided not to continue utilizing H&R Block services and will explore legal options if there are any penalties or delays in our filing.

When I first contacted HR Block, I discussed changing from my CPA of 20+ years mainly due to pricing concerns rather than service quality. I provided details about personal and trust taxes, including my role as a state employee, self-employment, homeownership, home office deductions, mileage, and various investments. Although the trust had no transactions, only the return needed to be filed.
During the initial call, I inquired about pricing, and estimated costs of approximately $[redacted] for my personal return and $[redacted] for the trust return were given. Based on this, we chose to switch to HR Block from our long-time CPA. However, upon nearing completion, I was informed the final bill would exceed $[redacted] for the trust return and over $[redacted] for the personal return. This was much higher than both the initial estimate and my previous CPA's charges. After expressing my concerns, a discount was applied to the trust return, adjusting the final bill to $[redacted]. Unfortunately, no discounts were available for my personal return, which ended up costing $[redacted]. This experience was contrary to HR Block's advertised "Upfront Pricing, No Surprises," leaving me feeling disappointed and regretful for not sticking with my prior CPA.

I purchased HRBlock Premium and State to file taxes for my father's estate, but I cannot find the necessary forms in the program. The software prompts me to update forms online, but I am unable to locate this feature, causing a delay in my father's taxes. I am requesting a refund for the software as I am unable to proceed. I have used H&R Block FreeFile to file my returns and paid quarterly estimated tax payments through EFTPS and state portals. However, I cannot find where to enter this information in the portal to avoid overpaying. The instructions provided online do not match the options available. The steps given to enter federal estimated tax payments are not applicable as the "Estimated Taxes and Other Taxes, Payments and Penalties" and "Visit Topic" options are missing under the Taxes tab. I am struggling to locate where I can input my previous federal and state estimated tax payments accurately.
