During my recent tax refund appointment at an H&R Block office, I encountered unprofessionalism from the initial agent. The agent made errors in my filing and misspelled my name. When I raised concerns about the state refund amount, he became visibly frustrated and dismissed my input. Despite bringing in two more agents who also doubted me, they eventually discovered an error in the filing. The appointment lasted over 2 hours and left me feeling upset due to the repeated dismissal of my concerns. I now question recommending this service to others and I believe a refund for the appointment is necessary. Transparency on pricing was also lacking. Thank you for addressing this issue.

Hello, I'm Josh Levy. I recently purchased my tax returns online through your service but forgot to use the discount link provided by my workplace. My attempt to resolve this over the phone with customer service was unproductive. After being transferred several times, I reached someone at financial services who didn't seem to understand my request and eventually disconnected the call. I just want to apply the discount code from my work. Please either cancel my initial purchase so I can reapply with the discount, or apply the discount retroactively. The username associated with my account is levyj6. If you require further information, please let me know. The discount link is www.hrblock.com/hrb-offers/sparkflyperks. Thank you for your assistance.

I used the Deluxe version for my tax filing. I encountered a problem with a 1099R and a 1099G not being eligible for state tax, even though state tax deductions were made. The 1099R was from my New York State retirement, which isn't taxable. The 1099G was for Paid Family Leave, also not subject to state tax. The chat support didn't resolve this, leading to an error in my state return, prompting the state to question it. I had to amend my return with a [redacted]-MISC from the insurance company. My state return went from an $[redacted] refund to owing $[redacted]. I suspect an issue with the H&R Block software and am seeking a professional review to confirm if I truly owe the state money. Thank you.

I completed my Indiana state tax filing but was surprised to see a charge of $36.99. During the online filing process, it was indicated that it costs that much for each additional state, but I am only filing for one state, so I should not be charged this extra amount. I am puzzled as to why this fee is being applied. Please reach out if additional information is required. I have used H & R Block for my tax filings in the last three years, and this is the first time I am encountering this charge.

I successfully completed the online tax return process and went through the payment steps for the HR Block program and federal tax balance. I also provided my bank details for the state refund. However, after reaching the end, the system keeps looping back to the "are you ready to file?" question. If I select "yes", it prompts me again for payment and bank information. Even though I have confirmation numbers for the payments made, I don't want to double pay. I reached out to the helpline, but the representative couldn't see the same screens on my account. After being transferred and waiting for an hour, I had to hang up. I just want to ensure that my tax return is successfully filed. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I have trusted HR Block software for a decade now and understand its functions well. After purchasing the deluxe edition online and downloading it from an email, I encountered an issue. When I save my completed files as a PDF, the copy for my records prints accurately, but the copy for filing lacks essential information such as IRS verbiage. Customer service could not provide a solution, even after consulting with a supervisor who suggested testing another computer, resulting in the same problem. I am open to suggestions on how to resolve this issue, as I believe it is software-related rather than a system problem on my end.

I had my taxes prepared at the H&R Block location in Mesquite, TX on Northwest Highway. It took weeks to complete as I was told they needed a senior tax preparer due to owning a home. During signing, I was informed about needing $24,[redacted] in deductions, but only the student loan deduction was applied, not the PMI, property taxes, union dues, work vehicle expenses, or other deductions itemized. It seems like their employees may only handle simple returns. Cassandra helped us during the process. I regret not going to a CPA and will not use this service again, and will share our experience. I have a copy of my receipt available if necessary.

I visited the branch at the Mission Trace Center in Thornton, CO today to inquire about my refund status. I didn't get the names of all the associates, but I need to mention a specific individual - a redhead who was quite rude and presumptuous. She repeatedly interrupted me and seemed dismissive. Despite my explanation that I knew H&R Block doesn't issue refunds, she continued to insist otherwise. Another older associate, who was friendly and attentive, eventually stepped in to assist me with my refund inquiry. The redhead then took over again, focusing on federal deductions rather than addressing my concerns. Additionally, I mentioned a promised gift card that I never received, which the rude redhead dismissed. This encounter was frustrating and uncomfortable, especially as it unfolded in front of other customers. I hope this feedback can lead to a resolution.

We have encountered two error messages on our return that we are struggling to locate and resolve. The first one mentions a third party being checked without any corresponding information, which we cannot find. The second error asks us to scan and attach a form that we believe is unnecessary, and even if it is needed, we are unsure how the program will recognize if we have completed this step. This issue has persisted annually, leading us to resort to mailing our return instead of filing electronically. Despite paying extra for the program each year to receive a 5% rebate from Amazon, we have missed out on this rebate due to the inability to file electronically. This 5% rebate is significant for us, amounting to over $1,[redacted] in our case. We hope this message reaches you. The help menu does not feature Tax Help, as indicated in the enclosed directions.

I recently visited a tax preparation office and encountered issues with the service provided. The staff member seemed unsure about where to input certain details, necessitating assistance from others. Following the filing, I was assured that my low refund was accurate based on tax laws. Seeking a second opinion from a professional through a different service revealed a potential discrepancy of almost $[redacted], with an explanation that contradicted the initial advice. Unsatisfied with the outcome, considering the guarantees advertised were not met, I am looking to amend my return and take my business elsewhere. This experience has led me to lose trust in this company and I intend to inform my family to avoid it. I believe this situation requires urgent resolution, and if needed, I will seek legal advice regarding the matter.

I submitted my taxes on February 6th, expecting a refund within 21 days. After this period passed, I returned to the H&R Block office where I filed my taxes to ensure everything was in order. I was informed that due to being a college student, my filing was delayed but was reassured that I would receive my refund within a week. That was over a week and a half ago. However, today I received a letter from the IRS requesting a 1095A form for processing. I am frustrated because I was misinformed when I sought clarification on my taxes. It's disappointing that my file was not thoroughly checked for accuracy. I have been a loyal customer of H&R Block for five years, but now I am reconsidering my choice after this experience.

I am using H&R Block [redacted] Premium for my business and have a question regarding entering limited income of $[redacted] for services. In my first year of business in [redacted], I could enter the income under "receipts and sales income" as prompted by the software. In [redacted], I did not receive the same prompt and am unsure where to input the business income to offset expenses. After selecting "A business you own" under "Choose any business activity that applies," I added the business and went through the 1099misc and 1099k screens, but ended up at the summary screen instead of the "receipts and sales income" entry like last year. I need to access this prompt to make the necessary entry, but I am unable to do so. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

When I reach the 'Your Filing Options' page, I click the 'e-file' button. Then, I proceed by clicking 'next,' but I encounter the following message:

I have no trouble connecting to the internet through my browser, email software, or RootsMagic software, indicating that my internet connection is functioning properly. Additionally, I've successfully updated the H&R Block software online 3 or 4 times without any issues.
I've made 6 or 8 attempts so far, encountering the same problem consistently.
Assistance appreciated,

My husband and I went to the H&R Block office in Queen Creek, AZ on Saturday, March 10 for our tax appointment with Mary Nielson. Even though we made a specific appointment for someone experienced with home-based businesses, we were instead allocated a tax professional who seemed unfamiliar with this field. Ms. Nielson struggled through the process, lacking knowledge on where to input deductions for our small home business which operated at a loss in [redacted]. It felt like I knew more about deducting items such as mileage and travel expenses to art fairs. She omitted some deductions we were eligible for, including the home office dedicated solely to our art business. The appointment ran well over time, and we were surprised by the significantly higher fee than initially quoted. We were quoted $[redacted] but ended up paying $[redacted], including the Peace of Mind guarantee that Ms. Nielson strongly recommended. In contrast, last year I paid $[redacted] for a thorough service from a different accountant without needing extra guarantees. I am requesting a refund of the $[redacted] price difference from H&R Block.

I am disappointed with my experience with H&R Block this year. I was not happy to start receiving text messages about my tax return status without my permission, in addition to emails. I tried to change my contact settings, but it seems impossible within my account. Feeling frustrated with the dead ends in the preparation process, especially when dealing with office equipment depreciation. The help provided was not useful in finding the required information. I also felt pressured to upgrade to the Pro review service for an extra $80 on top of the already high fee of nearly $[redacted] paid for tax filing. The unwanted text messages pushed me to block your number. I might switch to a different service next year due to this disappointing experience.

I am disappointed with my experience with H&R Block this year not only because of the difficulty in changing contact settings to stop unwanted text messages but also because of the challenges faced during the tax preparation process. The request for complex information like depreciation of office equipment without helpful guidance added to my frustration. I also felt pressured to upgrade to Pro review for $80 on top of the almost $[redacted] paid for tax filing, which I found to be too expensive. The unsolicited text messages were the final issue prompting me to block the number. I may consider switching to a different tax service next year due to these issues encountered in my interaction with H&R Block.

I am having serious concerns about the pricing for tax preparation services. Last year I paid about $[redacted], which already seemed high for a straightforward return with income from a regular job and a small side business. This year, I was shocked to be charged $[redacted] for an identical return prepared by the same person. When I questioned the increase, the tax professional explained that being a homeowner bumped up the fee to $[redacted], and having a W-2 job and a side business brought it to around $[redacted], plus the actual tax cost. He justified this by saying it was due to my situation. I typically spend just 10 minutes providing my details. I want to confirm if this pricing is accurate as I consider comparing with other providers next year. I have been a loyal customer of H&R Block for more than 15 years, but such a significant hike in fees without any change in my circumstances is concerning. The substantial portion of my refund being used to cover tax preparation costs is concerning.

After filing my taxes and paying the fee, I have some feedback on the pricing. Despite the new upfront pricing policy, I found it a bit misleading. My return, involving only a W2 and one additional income source, was considered "complex," resulting in a $99 charge. However, the inclusion of self-employment income under $5,[redacted] led to an additional $[redacted] charge. I believe this double charging for a single extra income source is excessive. The leap from $59 to $[redacted] for merely one more input seems disproportionate. While I appreciate the $99 fee, the extra $[redacted] feels unnecessary and somewhat unfair. I raised this concern with my preparer, but they couldn't alter the pricing. I'm hoping for a refund of the extra $[redacted], as my preference would be to continue using your service in the future. Otherwise, I'll opt for TurboTax next year. Thank you for addressing this matter.

Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is Denise M. Diaz, and my tax documents were completed with the incorrect routing number. My telephone number is [redacted], and I utilized the services at the Oxford Office in Casselberry, FL. I have contacted them about two weeks ago and provided the correct routing number. I spoke with Cecilia and requested the correction for the IRS to send my direct deposit to the bank. However, I have not received any confirmation from H&R Block that the correction has been made despite multiple follow-up calls. The IRS also has no record of the corrections. I am seeking assistance from a supervisor or representative to handle the necessary paperwork. In cases like this, I am also inquiring if customers are reimbursed for such errors. I have verified with my bank that they did not receive the direct deposit due to the incorrect routing number. I can be reached via email at [redacted] if there are any updates.
Regards,
Denise M. Diaz

I went to the office at [redacted] RT 37 E Tom's River NJ [redacted] on 3/2 for my taxes prepared by Letta Thompson.
Today, 3/13, when I checked my refund status, I discovered the IRS couldn't find my information.
After contacting H&R Block, I was informed that Letta didn't submit my file to the IRS, leaving it open in their system.
It's frustrating that no one contacted me about this for over 10 days.
The person assisting me showed no remorse or offered an apology.
I'm seeking a partial refund due to the high fees I was charged, which totaled over $[redacted] for a 21-year-old like me.
This level of service is unacceptable, and unless this matter is resolved, I won't be returning next year. This experience was disappointing.
