I'm a Blackberry Passport owner and have noticed that some apps on this device ask for permissions like access to pictures, music, and documents. It's quite rare for apps to request more than necessary.
In contrast, the Android platform requires permissions for everything on your phone, along with in-app purchases and ads. For instance, why would a WiFi Scanner need all these permissions?
I'm cautious about downloading apps that invade my privacy. Most apps seem to request unnecessary access. The excessive advertising and in-app purchases are overwhelming, hindering usability.
Why do developers require so much personal information? This feels like Facebook and Cambridge Analytica all over again. I believe developers shouldn't have access to such extensive data on users. It appears to be excessive data mining.
Best,
Jeff D.

I recently received a phone call on Monday, May 28th from an individual claiming to be connected with Google. According to him, I was approved for a $13,[redacted].00 grant. He mentioned a Florida law requiring a tax payment before I could access the grant, advising me to purchase $[redacted].00 worth of Google Play cards from Walgreens. Following his instructions, I bought the cards but later another person instructed me to obtain an additional $1,[redacted].00 to correct a supposed credit issue. Despite his assurance and the reference to his identity as Ben Morgan, Assistant CAO of the Maryland State Council at the Federal Reserve Bank #[redacted], I didn't send further money through Google Play. I promptly reported this scam to the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office the next day, who mentioned a growing number of similar incidents involving Google. I have the Google Play card numbers available and would appreciate your assistance. Thank you, Everett C. from Fort Pierce, FL.

I am upset because when I tried to verify my email for GamesGames and MundiGames, it was marked as spam, preventing me from verifying it. I believe I should be the one to determine what is spam in my inbox. I discovered the verification email in the spam folder after waiting for it. Please release it immediately so I can access the games. It's frustrating and unfair for my private emails to be treated this way. Please address this issue promptly.

Hello,
Around six days ago, during my usage of web-based Gmail on my Samsung phone with Metro PCS, I was prompted to change my Google password. After changing it to a variation of my usual password, I encountered issues accessing my account on both my phone and Dell laptop. Due to outdated contact information, I am struggling to regain access to my Google Drive, which holds vital school and personal records.
Despite creating a new Gmail account, I am still reliant on my inaccessible [redacted] account. I urgently need assistance to retrieve my password or update my contact information.
Thank you for your assistance,
Alice D.

Hello, I am Thomas Arthur S., and I am encountering issues signing into my Google account. I received assistance on March 25, where I changed the password but encountered a problem with my old water-damaged phone. The phone number for password resets is linked to my old landline which I cannot access. I recall my recent passwords to be "tomtomtom89" and "d@r@1989d@r@." I am willing to provide a photo of me holding my ID next to my face for verification. My other accounts like Facebook and Instagram are connected to this Google account along with sensitive information on Google Drive. If you could assist me in regaining access to my account similar to the help I received on March 25, please contact me at [redacted] Thank you, Thomas S.

I am frustrated with the excessive amount of calls I receive from your company every day, urging me to purchase ads despite being informed that my industry is not eligible for advertising since July 1, [redacted]. These incessant calls are disrupting my office workflow, and my team is avoiding picking up the phone due to the constant Google calls. The situation has escalated to the point where our office has been verbally abused by agents using fake caller IDs, hindering our productivity. I have tried multiple times to address this issue with no success, and now I am considering legal action if the harassment continues. Please, put an end to these unwanted calls that are affecting not just my business but several of my offices. If necessary, I can provide a list of our office numbers for you to rectify this situation promptly.

I am using Google Mail, and recently received a notification that my storage space is full, preventing me from receiving new emails. Despite deleting numerous emails, my storage capacity remains unchanged. Upon attempting to delete more emails, I encountered a message indicating I had reached the maximum allowed deletions. Unfortunately, Google does not provide a way to contact them for assistance. This dilemma has left me unable to clear space to receive emails. After having this account for several years, I am considering switching to a new email provider due to this issue. Any suggestions on what steps I can take to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Although I can provide my Google email address, I won't be able to receive any emails at the moment.

I recently purchased a Stylo 3 Plus, but I'm having trouble adding my Gmail account during the activation setup. Despite resetting the phone, it's not allowing me to proceed. The email I'm trying to use is the same one linked to my LG phone on lg.com and the LG app. Unfortunately, my phone was stolen and reset before it was recovered. Any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated so that I can use my device. Thank you.

I have encountered an issue with Google Mail, where despite deleting numerous emails to free up space, my storage capacity has not changed. Consequently, I am unable to receive new emails and have surpassed the limit for deleting further messages. I recently changed my profile password due to a Facebook hack. I also changed my Gmail password, but they are different. I need help resetting my password. When I try, it sends a code to my phone, but then asks for a second verification with my old Yahoo account, which I no longer remember the password for. Additionally, it requests the date I began using my Gmail account. If you can provide me with the month and year, I believe I can reset it successfully. I am willing to verify my ownership of the account however necessary. Please reach out to me promptly. Thank you, L. Godina.

A few months back, my debit card was fraudulently charged $[redacted] through Google Pay by an unknown individual. After disputing the charge with Google, I was refunded the amount. However, today I realized that the $[redacted] credit has been withdrawn from my bank account without prior notice, leaving me with no funds. I suspect this was an oversight from Google Pay. As it's Sunday, I plan to contact my bank tomorrow to rectify this for the second time. Unfortunately, I couldn't locate a direct email or phone number for Google Pay. I have contacted them before and request this matter to be resolved promptly. Thank you. ~ K.

After updating my S7 to G930VVRU4CRE5, I received a Google Play Services notification stating "account action required." When I click on the notification, it directs me to a sign-in screen where tapping next prompts me to either enter my Google account password or select "sign in with your Google account," which then asks for my email. I am then required to complete a "Captcha" robot blocker by typing the provided text. Despite the challenging text, successfully completing the prompt displays a message stating "this account already exists on your device" and prompts me to re-enter the characters from the "Captcha" blocker.

Last week, I had to update my password. Then, this past Friday, I got a new cell phone and forgot my password. I received a code via text and email. Unfortunately, I can't remember when I created my Gmail account. Google sent me a notification stating they couldn't verify my account and advised me to retry. I've attempted all my previous passwords. Since last Friday morning, I've been trying to regain access to my main Gmail account. My phone number is [redacted], and my referral email is [redacted]. I have a secondary Gmail account, [redacted] I can't access my main Gmail account, Google OneDrive photos, or my paid YouTube red account. I would appreciate a temporary password to access my email address ([redacted]). Thank you for your time and help. Rob.

My Sansung Galaxy J7 phone froze last Sunday. After removing and replacing the battery, I can't sign in. I've tried entering 5 different verification codes over 5 hours but keep getting a message that says it can't be sure it's me. The email during verification isn't mine, and I didn't set up this phone - a Verizon salesperson did. I don't know the password and need help. The phone ending in 44 isn't working to receive a code, and I can't get texts. I appreciate any assistance. My Google account is [redacted], and my regular email is [redacted], though I don't use the Gmail account.

I have been attempting to receive assistance from Google customer service without success. I reached out to Google customer care and account recovery to address medical issues affecting my short-term memory without improvement. Google's response felt like a frustrating cycle. Due to my memory struggles, using the system has become increasingly challenging. The lack of assistance and seeming disregard for my limitations are disheartening. I simply want to delete an account, not disrupt the system. The idea of resolving the issue through Google seems unimaginable at this point. My respect and patience for Google have diminished. I plan to deactivate or delete my main Gmail account if Google does not improve its support.

I created a second Google account, [redacted], on the same day I factory reset my phone. Unfortunately, I did not add a recovery email at that time, and I only used one password for that email which I now cannot remember. When attempting to recover my username using my phone number, it is found, and I am able to receive a recovery code. However, despite using the code, Google is still unable to verify the account. The name on the account is David Villegas, contact number is [redacted], and my date of birth is June 26, [redacted].

This is my second request. Last Sunday, my phone froze, and I am locked out of my own device. A Verizon salesperson set up this phone, and an email address I don't recognize is linked to it, preventing me from accessing it. My Gmail is [redacted], and my regular email is [redacted] My home phone number is [redacted], and my cell phone is [redacted]. Despite trying multiple verification codes, I keep getting the message that they are unsure I am the owner. Can alternative forms of identity verification, such as scanning my driver's license, be used to prove my ownership? I have already spent around 7 hours attempting to resolve this issue. Thank you for your help.
