I have a question regarding a GoFundMe campaign. The situation involves the passing of someone with divorced parents. The family of one parent set up the GoFundMe, but they have asked friends and family of the other parent to donate for expenses. I donated, not realizing that the money might not be split between both sides. The parent who was hospitalized in the tragedy reached out to us for help. I'm confused about how this situation should be handled since I thought the fundraising was meant to benefit both parents equally.

I have a question regarding a GoFundMe campaign. The situation involves a deceased individual with divorced parents. One parent's family started the fundraiser but has asked for donations from both sides of the family. My family, friends of the other parent, contributed, assuming the funds would be shared. However, it seems that one side intends to keep all the donations, leaving the other parent, who was in the hospital during the tragic event, without support. How should a situation like this be resolved? I hope this explanation is clear.

Hello, my name is Jonathan Garcia. I arranged a campaign in memory of my late in-law, and we have received generous donations from friends and family. We have decided to conclude the fundraising as we have surpassed our goal. I initiated a withdrawal on May 1st and deactivated the campaign later that day. The deposited amount by May 7th did not match the total raised due to fees. I am unsure if deactivating the account impacted the deposit. I have reached out via email to reactivate the campaign since there is remaining money. I am also seeking clarification on the total amount after fees. Additionally, I am interested in removing the campaign summary from the site and Google search after receiving the full amount promptly. Thank you for any assistance. Jonathan Garcia

Hello, I came across a GoFundMe page where a girl is asking for money. Her mother, Patricia Boylan, had life insurance and financial stability, contrary to what is being claimed. Text messages confirm the mother passed away leaving nothing to the daughter, Brit Boylan. There have been issues like abuse and restraining orders involving them at the Springfield court. The daughter is now soliciting funds inappropriately when she was not bereft. This misrepresentation does not align with the platform's purpose of assisting those in genuine need. Your attention to this matter is appreciated. Thank you.

My account has been put on hold after I attempted to switch the GoFundMe donations to a different bank account specifically for the mask makers guild. Even though I provided my ID for verification, I was unable to provide a bank statement as it was a new account. I had to switch it back to my original bank account, but I have yet to receive any funds. Our charity, which is making masks during the pandemic, is at a standstill as I have exhausted my personal credit cards while waiting for the funds to be released. As a mother of triplets with a husband who is a deputy, helping others is a priority for me. I am frustrated by the lack of assistance despite numerous emails, calls to the bank, and messages to CEOs. I am in urgent need of the funds to continue our charitable work.

I set up a GoFundMe for one of my closest friends who is battling kidney cancer while being homeless in Toronto with her three daughters. I designated her as the beneficiary, but she is now unable to access her account using her usual email and password details. The fundraiser's aim is to help her relocate back to Brantford, given her very limited income from ODSP. We have already achieved over half of our $[redacted] target, and the scheduled deposit was meant to be made on April 28th. Despite numerous attempts, Ashley has not been receiving the password reset emails. I attempted to log in using the website instead of the app, but encountered difficulties even though I'm still logged in on the app. We are seeking assistance to resolve this issue, especially since she had a potential housing option for May 15th that may now be at risk due to this problem.

Hello, I am experiencing difficulties with the transaction process you have in place. Splitting the funds into two parts without prior notice has caused confusion and inconvenience. I mistakenly believed the first part of the money was sent in error, not realizing it was part of my fundraising effort. Please consider informing customers about such procedures to prevent misunderstandings. Fundraisers like mine put in a lot of effort, and outcomes like this can be disheartening. It's frustrating to have my plans disrupted in this manner, as the discount I was aiming to take advantage of might no longer be available when I raise the funds again. I would appreciate more transparency and clarity in your processes in the future.

I created a GoFundMe campaign to support furloughed workers. I issued a check to distribute the funds quickly, but I am encountering issues withdrawing the money to my account. Despite uploading my identification documents, I keep receiving an error message. When I attempt to withdraw the funds, I am shown the following details: Withdrawal Amount: $6,[redacted].90 Beneficiary: Susan Meisenhelder Email: [redacted] Status: Invitation Sent Invitation sent to [redacted] Status: Beneficiary accepted Susan has accepted the invitation Status: Money withdrawn Susan has not completed the identification verification process

I set up a GoFundMe for a family member, Eddie M., who passed away. When I tried to withdraw the funds, only $33 was allowed to be withdrawn. I decided to cancel the fundraiser since another family member started a new one that we are using instead. How can I get the remaining balance sent to my account, especially because the original campaign was deactivated? Will the rest of the funds automatically transfer to my account or do I need to take additional steps to receive them? Thank you.

I am curious if you verify the recipients of the funds raised. I came across a GoFundMe page where funds are being collected for a family who claim to be destitute after their daughter was bitten by a rattlesnake. Despite the apparent need for help with potential high medical expenses, it has come to light that this family is actually quite affluent. Both parents hold lucrative positions, one as a dentist in Beverly Hills and the other as a successful executive recruiter, earning millions annually. They reside in a multi-million dollar property in Los Angeles. It is hard to believe they are truly lacking funds. While I empathize with the girl's situation, shouldn't health insurance cover such emergencies? Our society is known for its generosity, a reason platforms like GoFundMe thrive, but shouldn't fundraising be directed towards more deserving causes?

Hello Gofundme team, I have been trying to get the remaining payment from our donors processed for nearly a month. The amount is around [redacted] euros. The verification process is not working. Hello, I manage two different campaigns on gofundme.com from the email account [redacted] First campaign: Santos y Desamparados Second campaign: [redacted] dry bar We are raising funds to help these two cocktail bars in Madrid. Last week, we deactivated the Santos y Desamparados campaign and set up the withdrawal of funds. After not receiving them within 5 business days, we uploaded the identification document of Alberto Villaroel, owner of Santos y Desamparados, corresponding to his bank account on gofundme. Now, I am unable to set up a different withdrawal for [redacted] dry bar. This is not an issue since the owners of both bars are partners, but I need to know if the money from both campaigns will go to Alberto Villaroel's account, as at the moment, the withdrawals are scheduled for [redacted] dry bar. I have been trying to clarify this for several days without finding a solution. Thank you very much, Ana

I would like to address the recent suspension of Candace Owens' account due to your stance on freedom of speech. It is important to respect differing opinions, even if they are controversial. While George Floyd's death was tragic, it is essential to consider all perspectives. Despite his past criminal record, everyone deserves to be treated with respect. I believe in upholding the principles of free speech, even when they are challenging. I will be discontinuing my support for GoFundMe and informing others about my concerns regarding their approach to the First Amendment on platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

A friend set up a fund for my son, C. Goldman, to assist with funeral expenses. The funds were supposed to be deposited into my account from donations made by family and friends. However, his friend claims that GoFundMe is investigating the account, causing concern as I have not been notified as a beneficiary. I am worried about the whereabouts of the donated money. The friend mentioned that fees were deducted, even though he hasn't seen any transfers. He showed me an email he sent to GoFundMe but mentioned that no response has been received. I urgently need assistance with this situation.

On June 3, [redacted], we created a GoFundMe page with a small error in the email address. We are unable to access the account now despite everything else being accurate. We have attempted to reach out for assistance for several days to no avail. The incorrect email used is [redacted], and the correct version should be [redacted] We have even paid for a live support call with no response. We urgently need to resolve this matter to provide for our family member's funeral expenses.

I am disgruntled by the decision to remove Candace Owen's GoFundMe page for the bar owner based on her conservative views. The USA was founded on principles of inclusivity and diversity of thought. My trust in your platform has been compromised, and I will not support or create any campaigns with you in the future. This biased action is anti-American and undermines the essence of our nation. I will actively discourage others from using your services due to this censorship of peaceful conservatives while allowing fundraising for violent causes. This is incredibly disappointing, and I feel compelled to voice my dissatisfaction with your actions.

I am alerting you all to a scammer who is dishonestly seeking money under false pretenses. As his ex-wife and a victim of his domestic abuse, I have a restraining order against him. He has been soliciting funds based on fabricated stories. I possess evidence, documents, and videos supporting this claim. He has obtained hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars from individuals he has misled. He posted a misleading GoFundMe page requesting funds for essentials, but in reality, he used the money to purchase drugs, alcohol, and pills. Despite owing $[redacted] in rent, he had cash totaling over $[redacted] and an EBT card with $[redacted] on it, leaving me, his ex-wife, financially stranded. His name is Yahshua Joel Kickliter, and he is an abuser, manipulator, and habitual liar. Feel free to contact me via email at [redacted] or phone at [redacted] for any necessary evidence. Please reach out to me promptly. Sincerely, S.Grant

As a single parent and frontline worker, I face numerous challenges. I have served in the USAF Nurse Corps and am a disabled veteran with non-visible disabilities. For twenty years, I have battled diabetes and hypertension. My home is in poor condition, with broken toilet seats, leaky faucets, peeling carpets, and mold and mildew in the kitchen. The kitchen cabinets are damaged, and the backyard fence is broken. I am struggling to keep up with my $[redacted] monthly mortgage payments, and my house is at risk of foreclosure in Bexar County, Texas. I have faced financial difficulties, especially after losing my job last year due to caring for a sick child. Despite working multiple jobs, I have been impacted by COVID-related staffing changes. I am scared about the future and hesitant to ask for help during these challenging times. Could someone advise me on setting up a GoFundMe page for assistance?

During the difficult time after my husband's passing, his family set up a GoFundMe account on my behalf. Unfortunately, I was not familiar with GoFundMe at the time and wasn't fully aware of the details. Trusting his family, I never imagined I would fall victim to a scam. Shockingly, the person who set up the account using my information changed the email attached to it without my knowledge and stole the funds intended for my husband's funeral expenses. I have tried reaching out to GoFundMe multiple times but have not received any response. It is heartbreaking to think that someone could be so cruel and selfish during such a sensitive time. The individuals who donated, believing they were contributing to a funeral fund, have also been deceived. I am seeking justice in this matter.

I'm concerned about the title of a Go Fund Me campaign called "Tips for Lenin Standing Up To A San Diego Karen" as it contains a racial slur. Referring to someone as a "Karen" can be offensive as it is aimed at white women based on their ethnicity and gender. It's essential to consider the impact of using such language and to strive for consistency in addressing offensive speech, regardless of the targeted group. Women have historically faced discrimination and should not be subjected to derogatory remarks or hate speech. Let's promote respect and understanding towards all individuals regardless of their race or gender.
