My elderly father received a bill for multiple applications totaling £[redacted].96 after opting for a free trial subscription in September. Due to his serious illness and hospitalization in November, he was unable to prevent the automatic subscription to Avast security software. Surprisingly, upon checking his bank statement, we noticed four invoices for November, which seems excessive. My elderly parents are distressed by this situation, and despite multiple attempts to contact the company via phone, I have not received a response. I have taken the precaution of blocking the company on PayPal to avoid additional charges. I am eager for a resolution to this matter.

I received an email informing me that my AVG Internet Security (Multi-Device, 60-day Trial) will auto-renew on 09 May [redacted]. The cost is £49.99 plus VAT, charged to my credit or debit card. I am unsure about a new trial subscription for July and do not want to be charged tomorrow. I am unable to contact Digital River to cancel the auto-renewal without incurring high phone charges. I would like to stop the payment and appreciate any help. Thank you. - Margy Hill

Subject: Unauthorized Payment Query - Reference: 3HE99771AT[redacted]
I have recently discovered a charge on Ms. Mhairead Connolly's card via Paypal for £39.99 dated May 29, [redacted]. It seems there is no trace of any software or services purchased, and Ms. Connolly, who solely uses Apple products, did not initiate this transaction for Avast software.
Despite reaching out to Paypal, no clarification has been provided regarding the authorization of this payment. As it stands, this transaction was not approved by Ms. Connolly and needs to be promptly reversed, with the funds credited back to the respective card.
I trust that this matter will be resolved without delay. If immediate action is not taken, I may need to pursue this issue as a case of digital fraud.
Best regards,
Dr. Simon Connolly

This is my second experience with Digital River deducting funds from my PayPal account. Despite obtaining a refund the first time, they have charged me again with a pre-confirmed payment of £39.99 today. I am unfamiliar with Avast or Digital River, and I am distressed by this recurring issue. The phone number provided is unrecognized, and my online search suggests possible fraudulent activity. I have no history of purchasing from this company, but there is an invoice ID - [redacted]0 and a transaction ID - 6 SL06047YH433592E. Unauthorized withdrawals like this need to be refunded promptly.

I recently received a bill for my online order with reference number [redacted]7. After renewing my subscription online with Kaspersky, they provided me with an activation code that extended my existing license. I made the payment using my Mastercard and entered my name and address during the process, which I believe resulted in the billing from your end. I kindly request the cancellation of this bill as I do not wish to pay twice for the same product. Thank you, Sandra A.

On September 29th, I received an email from Paypal with a receipt for a £49.99 payment to Digital River Ireland, LTD. The issue lies in not receiving a reminder email for the subscription renewal seven days prior, as typically agreed upon before any purchase or free trial sign-up. Without this reminder, the subscription renewed without my explicit consent.
Furthermore, this payment was made without my knowledge, prompting me to seek a refund. I am reaching out for support in resolving this matter and ensuring the return of the £49.99 GBP to my account.
As a proactive step, I have unsubscribed from the AVG subscription, removed them from my billing agreement to prevent further payments, and lodged an unauthorized transaction claim with Paypal. However, the review resulted in the dismissal of my claims.

The email I sent to Digiriver at <[redacted]> on September 25th remains unanswered. It contains all the necessary information.
Subject: Urgent Refund Request for Incorrect Order
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am deeply concerned to have received an email today stating that I placed an order, which I did not.
On September 11th, I received an email requesting an update on my payment details for the product in question. However, during a previous email exchange with your staff, I clearly stated my disinterest in the product and any subscriptions. Your staff confirmed that I was not in a subscription and would not be charged.
Today, discovering that money was withdrawn from my PayPal account for Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery v8.0-Mac-EN [1 Year Subscription] with Order Number: [redacted]03, was distressing.
I kindly request an immediate full refund of £35.99 and an additional £30 as a goodwill gesture for the inconvenience caused. I have attached the invoice for reference.
Furthermore, I urge you to review your ordering process to prevent such incidents in the future. I am concerned about the number of affected individuals.
I seek prompt action and clarification on this matter.
Thank you.
Best regards,
K. Matthews

I was charged twice recently by Avast; first on 26/9/19 for $69.95 without an invoice, and then again on 2/10/19 for an auto-renewal with a detailed invoice on their website. I am unhappy with the charges and would like a refund. I can be reached at [redacted] and the card used ends in [redacted]. I will be contacting my bank regarding the potentially fraudulent billing.

I am frustrated with Kaspersky/Digital River for renewing my license a month early at a higher price than advertised on their website. Additionally, I am struggling to transfer the software to my new computer as it automatically installs without giving me the option to deactivate it from the old one. I have attempted to contact them through email and phone with no response or success in getting through, adding to my frustration. Overall, I feel disappointed by the increased charge and lack of functionality on my new device. Can anyone offer assistance with this issue? - M. Levingston

We need to urgently renew our subscription to Auto-Logoff before it expires on October 13th. This is extremely important for our university in the UK, specifically the University of Plymouth. We typically pay by credit card but currently lack a secure link or email to do so. Please contact me at the email provided to assist with the renewal process. Our previous account holder, Lindsay Brooks, has left the university. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I recently received notifications that my antivirus program had expired, as indicated in your email on August 26, which I missed due to being on vacation. I did not intend to renew the contract, and yet €44.99 was deducted from my account without my authorization. Please refund this amount promptly. Additionally, I did not sign up for the trial subscription that was involuntarily included when registering on your website. Could you please address this issue? I have been trying to resolve this matter for weeks, and this is the fourth time I am reaching out. (Note: Is my email address [redacted] correct?) Thank you for your attention to this matter. I recently received an email dated 26 August indicating my antivirus program had expired. However, I did not authorize any renewal and was surprised to see a charge of €44.99 deducted from my account. I did not expect an invoice as I had no intention of extending the subscription. Additionally, I did not sign up for the trial subscription offered on your website during my registration process. Could you please process a refund for the unauthorized payment promptly?
I have been addressing this issue for several weeks now and this is my fourth attempt at resolving it. Kindly acknowledge my request and provide an update on the refund status.
Thank you,
G.B.

I noticed a charge of £64.99 on my account for an order with ID [redacted]0 for Avast Security, which I never authorized. I have reached out to Paypal about this and they have claimed the charge is valid. I have spoken with Avast {Vladimir} who assured me a refund would be processed. I already use the free version of Avast which suits my needs, and I never agreed to this paid order. I haven't downloaded the security emailed to me, so I kindly request a refund of the amount charged through Paypal. Thank you.
