When I questioned the origins of the check, they said it was payment for work done for the academy. When asked why they couldn't pay the moving company directly, they evaded the question. I informed them I would wait for the check to clear before making any transfer. They insisted on getting a partial amount for the moving company, but I declined. I plan to involve the authorities if the check turns out to be fraudulent and catch the person expecting to pick it up in Minneapolis, MN.
