Following a tragic event, my family booked flights to Santa Ana, California, to handle the aftermath of my mother's passing. Upon arrival, we discovered that authorities had put a hold on her belongings and remains. Due to being next of kin, my son, husband, and I had to extend our stay. However, contacting customer service proved challenging, with extended wait times and no callback as promised. Unable to alter our flights online, I had to drive back home, causing additional stress and financial strain after a costly funeral. After finally finding time to address this issue, I hope for assistance, whether through a credit for future travel or other means, to help ease our situation during this difficult time.

I attempted to use a credit certificate to buy a ticket, which was issued after canceling a flight last year due to Covid. The credit certificate states that I have $1,[redacted]. When I contacted an agent to use the credit, they mentioned that I only had $1,[redacted] left without explaining the $[redacted] discrepancy. Checking online, my account initially showed a balance of $1,[redacted] (approximately), but now displays $0.00. I've tried to contact Alaska Airlines for clarification but faced a long wait. If someone could assist me in understanding how my $1,[redacted] credit reduced to $0, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Alfred F. [redacted].

I purchased air travel for two Alaska Mileage Plan passengers, myself, Gary B. Ockey, with Alaska Air program number [redacted]96, and Luisa M. Harker, online on May 11, [redacted]. We flew from SFO to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (SJD) on flight [redacted] on May 20, [redacted], and returned on flight [redacted] on May 25, [redacted]. Upon checking in for our return flight, we realized our return reservation was missing. We then booked one-way return flights at the full fare. Although we had a pleasant trip, we ended up paying more for one-way tickets than we should have for round-trip fares. I used my CITI Mastercard ending in [redacted] for the payment. I am requesting a credit for the overcharged amount to my CITI Mastercard. I tried contacting customer service but faced a long wait time. I would appreciate speaking with a live agent or receiving a prompt response to this matter. We look forward to flying with Alaska Air again. Thank you, sincerely, Gary B. Ockey, Alaska Air program #[redacted]96.

I am disappointed by the experience I had with Alaska Airlines on my recent trip. On June 9th, I flew from LAX to PDX and had to check my carry-on due to a full flight. When I retrieved my bag, I noticed three white lines and scratches on it. Then, on June 13th, returning from PDX to LAX, my bag was damaged again while being checked due to a full flight. The baggage had a huge dent on one corner. I attempted to fix it but only made it worse. I am now dealing with significant damage to my luggage from both flights. I am seeking a resolution to this matter and would appreciate guidance on how to proceed. Thank you.

I just got back from a fishing trip in Alaska this morning. I haven't flown with Alaska Air in several years but decided to give it another try this year for my 26th trip, joined by my daughter for her 20th trip. We usually fly first class and returned with five fish boxes along with other luggage. I appreciate the effort of your team in keeping our luggage intact and arriving on time. Unfortunately, one of your baggage handlers mishandled all five styrofoam-lined fish boxes. I now have to spend my day repackaging semi-thawed salmon and dealing with styrofoam debris. While I've had issues with TSA before, this was the first time every box was completely destroyed. I hope Alaska Air acknowledges that a broken $25 styrofoam-lined box doesn't provide proper insulation. Despite this incident, Alaska Air has always been our top choice for flying and will remain so. I hope next year's trip will see our salmon arriving in New Hampshire still frozen!

I recently utilized the Car Rental Service and decided to cancel my booking on 12 April, using booking reference USS[redacted]0. After receiving an email assuring me of a refund to my American Express, I have yet to see this refund reflected. Unfortunately, when reaching out to the company, they were unable to assist further citing privacy reasons. Consequently, I have escalated the matter to American Express. The rental agency, First Auto Rental, charged me the full amount despite it not being located in Alaska as initially indicated but having an overseas name and address. My details for reference are: Francis Bannister, Mileage Plan [redacted]52. The booking was for an upcoming trip to Maui scheduled for September [redacted].

Subject: Compensation Request Due to Flight Delay I am SungJo Kang, a passenger on Alaska Airlines Flight [redacted] on the 26th. My travel from AUSTIN to SEATTLE was severely impacted by a serious delay, causing me to miss my connecting flight to ICN(KOREA). Consequently, I had to reroute to LA and faced significant disruptions, resulting in missing my VISA interview and failing to relocate to the U.S. as planned. I am filing a claim for the following compensation due to the setbacks I encountered: 1. Mental damage compensation for delays and waiting time: Minimum $2,[redacted]. 2. Compensation for visa interview failure and house moving schedule disruption: $12,[redacted] (200USD X 60DAYS). 3. Taxi fare to the U.S. Embassy: $50. 4. Printing cost of VISA document: $70. 5. Compensation for non-payment of overseas salary allowances: $6,[redacted] (3,000USD X 2months). 6. Compensation for damages related to termination and renewal of house moving contract: $1,[redacted]. I provide original and rescheduled tickets and part of the VISA document as evidence. Please review my case thoroughly and take appropriate action. Thank you, SungJo Kang

I recently traveled on Alaska Airlines with my wife from Seattle to Vegas and then back to Seattle. Despite serving in the military for 25 years and now being retired, I was informed at the airport that I do not qualify for free baggage like active-duty military personnel. This came as a disappointment and felt like a slight to veterans like me who have dedicated many years to our country. I believe it's unfair to distinguish between active duty and retired military when it comes to baggage benefits. It was disheartening to be charged an additional $60 for two bags on my return flight. I appreciate Alaska Airlines, but this policy discrepancy left me feeling undervalued as a retired service member. I hope this feedback can lead to a reconsideration of how retired military personnel are treated in comparison to those in active duty. Thank you for addressing my concerns.

My husband and brother were on a flight scheduled for 8:55 pm from Seattle tonight, which got canceled due to weather conditions. My husband hasn't seen our children in a long time, and our 8-year-old, who has autism, has been looking forward to seeing his daddy for Christmas. He's been in a complete meltdown since I broke the news that daddy might not make it. I've reached out to the airline I booked through without success. I'm currently facing a 7-hour hold time to talk to someone at Alaska Airlines, and my attempts on social media have not received any responses. Please assist. The confirmation numbers are SCYRJA for Jordan Ellis and ICRGRS for Zachary Sorensen.

My return flight for December 23, [redacted], was canceled due to icy conditions from Seattle to Santa Ana. I successfully rebooked it for December 26, [redacted], using the Alaska app, but the new flight date doesn't appear on the app. I managed to add the new flight information to my calendar through Alaska Airlines' "add to calendar" feature. I have been unable to reach anyone at Alaska Airlines by phone or text due to the high volume of calls. I am seeking confirmation that this change has been made. Thank you, Linda.

On Thursday, my daughter flew from Anchorage to Seattle. Her flight from Seattle to Minneapolis, MN was canceled due to mechanical problems. The airline rescheduled her for Friday, but that flight was also canceled. My husband was on the phone with a customer service representative and the call got disconnected without a callback. He's now driving from Minnesota to pick her up. The airline won't release her checked bags, claiming they are in a locked room because she didn't rebook a flight. Despite having her luggage tags, they're not allowing her to have them. There are no available flights, and she's left without clothes or toiletries at the hotel. Can the luggage issue be resolved? I understand the limitations with mechanical issues and weather, but the luggage should be manageable.

Hello, My name is Peterson Vue and I recently traveled on Alaska Airlines flight AS0654 from Seattle to Sacramento on December 24th. Unfortunately, one of my checked bags was damaged during the journey, resulting in the loss of some valuable items. I took photos of the damage and the missing items before leaving the airport due to the late hour and cold weather. I am willing to provide these pictures to support my claim. I believe this incident was caused by the airline, and I am seeking your assistance in resolving the matter and taking responsibility for the damage. Please feel free to contact me at [redacted] I am eagerly awaiting your response. Thank you, Peterson Vue

I am trying to cancel or change my flight booking. I have attempted to reach out through phone, chat, and requesting callbacks, but have been unsuccessful in getting through. The callback option connects the call, but I am unable to answer, resulting in unsuccessful call notifications. Chat indicated a 52-minute wait time for an agent, but now the chat feature is not available. My flight was yesterday, and I have an upcoming flight today to the incorrect city, which was automatically booked by the system. I urgently need to speak with an agent to address these issues and adjust my flights accordingly.

My wife, Venda Gale, and grandson, Jack Carney, traveled on December 12. Flight AS371 was delayed in Austin, TX, and our bags were shipped the next morning. I filed a lost baggage report with number LASAS[redacted]2. We were informed by central baggage that our bags were sent to the Philippines. We have been waiting for an update but no one has contacted us. I have spent hours on hold trying to reach someone for assistance, to no avail. It has been quite frustrating as I just want our baggage returned. It feels like Alaskan Airlines is not prioritizing customer care. My contact number is on the incident report, but I have not been able to speak to anyone. If anyone can provide an update or assist us, please call me at [redacted]. Thank you, Venda Gale.

I have to get home quickly and really need to speak with someone from the airline. Could you provide me with a contact number, so I can try to reach them again? Thank you for your assistance with this issue.

I'm reaching out for assistance regarding my mom's canceled flight with United to Texas. Her upcoming Alaska Airlines flight EXVUXV on Thursday needs cancellation or rescheduling due to this. I am looking to rebook a round trip for her from Portland, Oregon (PDX) to Houston on January 13th with a return flight from Houston to Portland on January 19th. Your help with this matter is greatly appreciated.

I am requesting a refund for a flight that was delayed by over 3 hours. Additionally, I am seeking compensation for the alternate flight I had to book due to the delay. The Alaska Airlines website indicated there was a cancellation and change policy, but when trying to implement it, I was unable to do so. We were faced with the possibility of missing our Alaska Airlines connection and being stranded at the connection airport for 2-3 days. Consequently, we had to secure an alternate flight with a different airline to avoid missing our connection and potential stranding. In light of these circumstances, I am asking for compensation for the costs incurred due to booking the alternate flight.

Hello. This is Nicolas H. I had a flight scheduled to depart from Maui to LAX on the 25th, but it was canceled, and I was issued a new ticket for the 27th, which I couldn't accommodate. I've been attempting to contact you, but the long wait times have made it impossible to reach anyone. I need to cancel the 27th flight at 4:05 pm and receive a refund. Due to this situation, I purchased another flight and departed from Maui on the 25th as initially intended. Thank you. Nicolas H.

I am requesting a full refund for my disrupted travel experience. My connecting flight was canceled, leaving me stranded in Anchorage overnight with no available return flights home. I did not receive any assistance like a hotel voucher or compensation for the inconvenience. When I tried to cancel my next connecting flight, I was informed that I could only receive a partial refund after paying a $75 fee. Additionally, I was unable to find a rental car company that would allow me to drop off the vehicle at a different location, making it impossible for me to drive home. The lack of communication was also disappointing, as I was not informed of the flight cancellation or delay until several hours after the scheduled departure time.

Alaska Airlines canceled my flight on December 24th. I managed to reschedule it for December 26th. However, I was charged $30 for luggage each time, totaling $60 on my Chase Ink Visa card. The correct amount should be $30. I am finding it difficult to reach them by phone during this busy holiday period. Could you assist me in getting a credit for the luggage charge on December 23rd? My name is Larry S. I prefer not to provide my Visa card details via email and would like to speak with a representative directly.
