There are many reasons why people may need Sling customer service. A lot of people have questions about activation before they purchase the product, but in my case, I needed help understanding the payments and charges that were on my bill. I didn’t want to pay my bill until I made sure that I wasn’t going to pay more than what I had signed up for. I like to talk to real people when I discuss billing, so I bypassed their live chat and opted to call their phone number in the hopes of talking to a real person.
A few things that I think helped expedite my phone call was that I had my account number and my billing statement number handy so I was able to answer it when asked. This saved me from having to wait for the general helpline. I also kept my laptop up in case I needed to refer to my bill for any help. Anyone calling about a service issue would probably want to be near their computer or Roku to try some troubleshooting solutions, but because that was not my specific problem, I cannot speak to that particular customer service issue.
The first option I was given was to get help signing up, and I was told that I could go online to do so. However, I didn’t want a live chat, so I stayed on the line. The directory was very short which I appreciated and while I could have pressed two for account help, it directly went to hold music, so I just let it stay on hold. The music was quite pleasant and I didn’t mind listening to it in the background. I simply put my phone on speaker and set it next to the laptop while I worked on a few things. Every once in a while, the music would break and I was told I could go online for help, but overall, the hold experience wasn’t bad.
While there wasn’t a callback option, the wait time wasn’t bad at all. I called around noon, and it only took 3 minutes for someone to pick up my call. The speaker was clear and easy to understand, and they quickly looked up my account information and walked me through what each charge on my bill meant. I was off the phone in less than 10 minutes with my questions resolved and was happy to participate in the customer service survey.
Overall, I think Sling TV customer service gets negative reviews because people want access to streams that aren’t available in their areas. There is nothing that a customer service rep can do about that. However, if you have a real account issue, they are very helpful and will sort it out quickly.

GetHuman does not provide call center services or customer support operations for Sling TV. The two organizations are not related. GetHuman builds free tools, researches information, and shares tips and tricks from other consumers to help customers of companies like Sling TV. That can include tools such as our GetHuman Phone, which allows you to call a company but skip the part where you wait on the line to get a live human rep, or talk to a company's customer service operation for you. GetHuman believes that this fills an important gap between fragmented support models, makes the customer care experience more uniform, and even answers questions that businesses and agencies are reluctant to answer (but shouldn't be) - making the customer experience less confusing for all. We continue to work on these tools to help customers like you (and ourselves!) navigate the messy phone menus, hold times, and confusion with customer service. As long as you keep sharing it with others, we'll keep improving it.
