Calling this number proved very effective, as I was able to get assistance almost immediately. When trying to call store numbers, it's never certain if the number will be a helpful one that offers assistance at almost all times or an ineffective option. This is a mix between the two, as it isn't likely to provide much help after hours. But during regular hours, getting assistance is simple.

When I called, I was taken first to the main automated menu, where I was asked if I was calling about a Nordstrom account or the Nordy club. If so, I was to press 1 immediately; if not, I was asked to wait for the next person to assist me. I chose to wait and spent less than a minute waiting before someone answered my call.

Upon their introduction, I told her that I wanted to find out how long after purchasing an item from Nordstrom I would have to be able to return it. She asked if I had bought at a Nordstrom brick-and-mortar store or online, and whether I had bought from Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack. I told her the item in question was bought at Nordstrom Rack online, and she said that I would have a minimum of 40 business days in which to return it.

After doing a quick bit of math, I noted that would be eight standard work weeks, and asked the representative to confirm that was accurate. She did so, and added that would be the shortest window in which to return an item. She then said that even after the window, I could still return the item for a lower amount of credit, before asking if I had other questions and ending the call when I didn't.

I was impressed with the ease of getting an answer, both in terms of wait time and in terms of my questions being fully answered. Based on this, I would absolutely use this number again for Nordstrom assistance.
