How Do I Open an Account on bitFlyer?

There are many exchange platforms available for the buying, selling and trading of cryptocurrency. bitFlyer is one of the most popular and largest marketplace platforms and it originated in Japan. If you're interested in opening an account, you might be wondering what to expect and how to do it. This guide will walk you through the process of opening a bitFlyer account.

Are You Eligible for an Account

You need to be a resident of the United States and at least 18 years old to be eligible to open a bitFlyer account. You also must reside in one of the states where bitFlyer operates. Please note that the platform is available in most states except for West Virginia, Wisconsin, Utah, Missouri, Montana, Michigan, Maryland, Kentucky, Indiana, California, and Colorado. Please reach out to bitFlyer customer service if you have any questions about your eligibility to open a bitFlyer account.

Necessary Documents and Other Account Creation Steps

When you're ready to create your free account, visit the official website and click on the Sign Up button. You'll need to enter your email address, mailing address, name, and phone number. Next, you'll receive a confirmation email providing a code you'll need to enter to activate your account. You may also be required in the future to provide your I.D. number, like your social security number, in addition to any valid I.D. documents. Until then, please read the dialogue boxes advising you of the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and other notices. Next, check the boxes next to each notice, select your State, and click on the Start bitFlyer button.

bitFlyer has a few account classes that are not listed on its website, but there are at least three: Standby, Trade Class, and Trade Pro Class. When you register, you're automatically at the Standby Class and you would need to provide more of your information to upgrade your class.

Please keep in mind that the platform allows each user one account only and you may need to eventually link your bank account to successfully use the website.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for bitFlyer Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
