Two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security that you can add to your online accounts. It requires something you know (your password) and something you have (a code sent to your phone). Two-factor authentication can protect you even if your password is stolen or guessed by a hacker. BitFlyer offers two-factor authentication for account holders who wish to use it. Here's how to set it up.
These are the main steps:
Log in to your bitFlyer account and go to the Security Settings page.
Click the Enable Two-Factor Authentication button.
A pop-up window will appear with instructions on setting up two-factor authentication using the Google Authenticator app.
Follow the instructions in the pop-up window. You'll be asked to scan a QR code with the Google Authenticator app and then enter a code generated by the app.
Once you've completed these steps, two-factor authentication will be enabled for your account.
Before setting the Two-factor authentication, we recommend that you do the following:
Choose a solid and unique password for your account. A strong password is at least eight characters long and contains a mix of upper and lower-case letters, numbers, and symbols. If you need help choosing a strong password, try a password manager like LastPass or 1Password.
Set up account recovery options. If you lose your phone or delete the Google Authenticator app, you'll need a way to recover your account. To do this, go to the Security Settings page and click the Set Account Recovery Options button. You can choose to receive a recovery code by email or text message.
Download the Google Authenticator app. This app will generate codes for you to use when logging in to your bitFlyer account. You can download it for free from the App Store or Google Play. Engage customer support when you experience any problem. There are many two-factor authentication apps available, but we recommend Google Authenticator because it's free and works with various online accounts.
If you lose your phone or delete the Google Authenticator app, you won't be able to log in to your bitFlyer account unless you have an account recovery code. Go to the Security Settings page and click the Get Recovery Code button to get an account recovery code. You can choose to receive the code by email or text message.
Once you have the account recovery code, enter it in the space provided on the bitFlyer login page. This will allow you to log in to your account and disable two-factor authentication. You can then set up two-factor authentication again using a new phone or authenticator app. Contact customer support when you have trouble.
If you want to deactivate two-factor authentication, go to the Security Settings page and click the Disable Two-Factor Authentication button. You'll be asked to enter your bitFlyer password. Once you confirm your password, two-factor authentication will be disabled for your account.
This means you have the freedom to turn it off and on, depending on your needs at the time. For example, if you're traveling and won't have your phone with you, you may want to disable two-factor authentication so you can still log in to your account. Just remember to turn it back on when you return. Call customer support for assistance.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
After helping consumers for 10 years, we realized that you need an impartial, live person you can talk to about comparing the various TV, cable, Internet and phone plans in your area- somebody who can compare the best deals across telecom providers.
