How Do I Recover My Yahoo Password Without a Security Question?

In a nutshell: Yahoo users can recover their passwords by using their recovery email address or phone number. Without access to these recovery options, it is not possible to recover the password. The process involves going to the Mail.Yahoo.com website, clicking on "Sign In," and then selecting "Forgot Username." Users are then prompted to enter their email address or phone number and click "Continue." A verification code will be sent, which should be entered on the website. Once verified, users can select their Yahoo account and create a new password. It is important to use a strong, unique password and avoid using personal information. After changing the password, Yahoo will send a confirmation email to the recovery email address. Additionally, if there are any suspicious activities, users can change their password through the Yahoo Security page or the app.

Introduction

Yahoo users can quickly recover their Yahoo email passwords without answering a security question. However, you'll need access to your recovery email address or phone number to recover your Yahoo password. Those who don't have access to the recovery phone or email won't be able to recover their passwords. It's currently the only way to recover a Yahoo email password. Ready to recover your Yahoo password? Use the steps below.

Go to Mail.Yahoo.com

Click Sign In

Click Forgot Username

Enter Your Email Address or Phone Number

Click Continue

Wait for the verification code to be sent to your email address or phone number. If you enter your phone number, Yahoo will verify your identity by asking for your first and last name.

Enter the 6-digit Character Code

Click Next

You can also click Resend Code if you haven't received the six-digit character code sent by Yahoo.

After clicking Next, you'll see a list of Yahoo Accounts associated with your recovery email address. You'll also know when the account was set up.

Click the Yahoo Email Address You'd Like Access To

You'll be taken to the Create a New Password page. Yahoo will also send a Sign-in notification email to your recovery email address to check if it was you trying to sign in to your account. There's no need to reply to the email.

Enter Your New Password

To enhance security, use unique words when creating a new password. Make sure it's at least 12 characters. Longer passwords are even better. It's also recommended not to use your personal information, such as birthdays; avoid repeated characters as well. If possible, have a different password for each site you use.

Click Continue

Wait for the next page that says you've successfully created a new password.

Click Continue

The next page will show information about your Yahoo Account's recovery email address and phone number. If you want to edit an email address or phone number, click on the Pen sign beside the email or phone number.

Enter a New Email or Phone Number

If you edited a phone number or email, type in the new number and click Confirm.

You can also add another email or phone number by clicking on the Add email or mobile number.

Click Looks Good

Go to the next step if you don't want to change your recovery email address or phone number.

After changing your password, Yahoo will also send a Password Change email to your recovery email address to make sure it was you who made the change.

Conclusion

If there are suspicious or unusual activities on your Yahoo account, sign in to the Yahoo Security page to change your password. You can also do this via the app by clicking the Menu icon and tapping Manage Accounts. Tap Account Info, then Security Settings, and enter your security code. Tap Change Password and enter a strong password. If you have questions about recovering or changing your Yahoo password, please contact Customer Support.
