Introduction

As an Xbox user, you might encounter problems while using the console. For instance, a game might freeze, have trouble starting or quit unexpectedly. Despite your issue, Microsoft offers a straightforward process for reporting problems on the Xbox One platform. Here’s what to do if you’d like to report a problem on your Xbox One console.

Identify the Problem

Identifying your problem before reporting it to Xbox One is essential. It could be a game-related issue, an app or the console itself. Find a clear description of the issue by taking note of the error messages and any unusual behavior with your device. If you want to check for service outages, open the game launches page to check for common gaming issues. If you see an error code, search it online to learn how to troubleshoot it.

Access the Xbox Guide

To initiate the reporting process, you must access the Xbox guide menu. Open the guide by pressing the Xbox button.

Navigate to the “Store” Tab

Once the guide is open, scroll to the bottom and click the store icon.

Click “Search”

When the store section loads, click the search button.

Type in “Report a Problem”

Clicking the search icon opens a section for typing what you’d like to search online. Type “Report a Problem” and search to get the results.

Download the Application

When you’d like to report a problem on Xbox One, the interface loads a chat symbol app you must now download. Click the chat application in the results and click “Get” to download.

Report a Problem

After installing the application successfully, press and hold the Xbox button. This loads the Xbox interface that allows you to turn off your console, turn off the controller or restart your console. Focus on the bottom section of the screen and select “Report a Problem.” This new section is available due to downloading and installing the application feature in the previous step.

Wait for the System to Collect Information

When you click “Report a Problem,” the system automatically scans for problems with your Xbox One. Let it collect all the data required and finish the process.

Report New Problem

When the system finishes collecting device information, it opens a new screen with new options. Navigate to the bottom left and click “Report New Problem.”

Choose Your Report Format

The next section loads, offering two options for how to start your report. “Continue With Standard Diagnostics” to report an issue unrelated to video or audio and the alternative option for audio or video issues. Click “Continue With Standard Diagnostics.”

Select a Category

In the next screen, select the appropriate category and sub-category of the issue type you’re experiencing.

Attach a Screenshot

The next section provides a space to include a screenshot or your game clip to help diagnose the problem. Attach it and click “Next.”

Complete Your Report

When prompted to complete your report, click “Continue on Console.”

Describe Your Problem

Next, give your problem a title and a clear description. The description section is large, so be as detailed as possible.

Submit

When done, click “Submit.” If you encounter issues during the process, contact Xbox customer support.

Conclusion

Don’t panic whenever you have a problem with your Xbox One console. Following the correct steps will help you report your issue and resolve it. Get the help you need and continue enjoying your favorite games.
