If you have a Wells Fargo bank account, you can have the bank pay your bills for you. You'll never have to deal with paying them yourself again, or with the fallout from paying one late. This article will show you how to set that up.

How to Make Recurring Bill Payments With the Wells Fargo App

You can use the Wells Fargo app to get the recurring automatic bill payments going. Once you have it on your phone or tablet, just follow these steps:

  1. Open the app.
  2. Sign in to your Wells Fargo account.
  3. Tap on Pay & Transfer in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap on Pay Bills.
  5. Tap on the Get Started button.
  6. Tap on Add a Payee.
  7. Tap on the Search by Name field.
  8. Enter your payee's name.
  9. Tap on the payee in the search results list.
  10. Enter your account number with that payee.
  11. Expand the Payee's Address dropdown menu.
  12. Select your payee's address.
  13. Tap on the Add Payee button.
  14. Tap on Not Now to skip the eBills option.
  15. Select your payee.
  16. Tap on the Autopay option to turn it on.
  17. Select an account to use to pay the bill.
  18. Select a payment amount, such as Minimum or Current Balance.
  19. Tap on the calendar icon.
  20. Select a payment start date.
  21. Tap on the Review & Pay button.
  22. Review the payment information.
  23. Tap on the Pay button.
  24. Tap on the Finish button.

How to Make Recurring Bill Payments Online

To set up recurring payments from your desktop or laptop, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Wells Fargo website and log in.
  2. Click on the Transfer & Pay option in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  3. Click on Pay Bills.
  4. Click on the Add Payee button.
  5. Select your payee from the list of popular local payees. If your payee is not on the list, click on the Add a Payee Manually link and follow the prompts to add yours.
  6. Select your payee's address.
  7. Enter your account number with that payee.
  8. Click on the Save button.
  9. Click on the three dots icon next to your payee.
  10. Select the Autopay option.
  11. Select an account to use to pay the bill.
  12. Select a payment amount, such as Minimum or Current Balance.
  13. Choose a payment start date.
  14. Review the payment information.
  15. Submit the payment information.
