To change your trip details, you will need to call Virgin America here to speak with a customer service representative. The representative will advise how to submit the proper documentation to support rescheduling your trip.

There are three things you need to be aware of when changing your tickets due to a death in the family.

  1. If a member of your travel party dies while you are on your trip, Virgin America will waive minimum stay conditions and extend the period your tickets are valid.
  2. After you have started your trip, if you are alerted that an immediate family member has passed away, you can request that the stay conditions and validity period are changed to allow you to travel home for any arrangements or other issues surrounding the person's passing.
  3. You must provide Virgin America with a valid death certificate in order to change your itinerary, and the period the ticket is valid will not extend beyond 45 days from the date the family member passes away.

Virgin America recognizes there are situations that are beyond a person's control, so it will work with individuals who provide the required documentation to change fight dates or destinations.
