What are Virgin America's pet travel policies?

Asked a year ago
Virgin America welcomes pets on board their flights. Small cats and dogs can travel in the cabin if the combined weight of the pet and carrier is less than 20 pounds. The cost for pet travel is $100 each way, and there is a limit of one pet per passenger. Pets must remain inside their carrier under the seat in front of the passenger throughout the flight. Pet carriers must meet certain size requirements and should be leak-proof and well-ventilated. Virgin America does not allow pets to travel in the cargo hold. It is important to book pet travel in advance as there is a limited number of spots available per flight.
