Call Verizon Directly to Cancel 5G and LTE Home

Are you subscribed to 5G Home Internet or LTE Home Internet? You’ll need to contact Verizon directly to cancel your service. Calling may also give you the opportunity to lower your monthly bill.

To reach Verizon, dial the 1-833 number on the screenshot provided and be ready to verify your account over the phone to complete the cancellation.

After canceling, return any rented equipment to a UPS Store. Before heading there, check with Verizon for specific return instructions. Be sure to also keep your return receipt for your records. You’ll receive a confirmation email once Verizon has received the equipment. Make sure the equipment is in good condition to avoid additional charges.

Chat With Verizon

You can also contact Verizon via chat. Simply click the Chat With Us button on the website and follow the prompts to connect with a live representative who can assist with your cancellation.

Be sure to reach out during business hours to ensure you’re connected to an agent who can process your request.

If you have Verizon Fios service, follow the steps below to disconnect it.

You can also choose to let your balance run out. The service will automatically cancel after 61 days of inactivity. However, make sure Auto Pay is turned off to avoid additional charges.

Find a Verizon Store

If you prefer to speak with a representative in person, visit a Verizon store near you. Simply enter your ZIP code or city to find nearby locations, or click Use My Location to see the closest store.

Be sure to bring a valid ID for verification.

Conclusion

Are you canceling your service because you’re traveling or moving? Consider suspending the service instead. LTE and 5G Home Internet can be suspended for up to three months, but only once every 12 months. However, a fee of $10 per month applies during the suspension period. You may also have the option to transfer your Verizon service to a new address if the service is available at the new location. If you still decide to cancel, be sure to return all rented equipment on time and in good condition to avoid additional charges. Have more questions? Contact Customer Support for assistance.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Verizon Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
