In order to receive a refund from TJX, you need to return it within 30 days of making the purchase from a physical store. The grace period for refunds of online purchases is 40 days.

There are several exceptions to the rule though. If you bought an item from a brick and mortar TJX store, that is where you have to return it for a refund.

If you bought it online, you can return it to a store if it costs less than $1000. The same goes for handbags that cost less than $499.99.

If you purchase a long occasion gown online, you cannot return it to a physical TJX store. Any beauty products that have been opened or tampered with cannot be returned.

Any items you return to TJX should not be used and should be in a resalable condition. If the TJX employee spots any suspicious element about the item you are returning, they can deny the refund at their own discretion.

TJX will start processing your refund as soon as they receive your returned item. Once they determine that your return is eligible for a refund, it will take ten to fourteen days for the refund to be credited to your original form of payment. That applies for online purchases only.

For in-store returns, they will grant you the refund immediately. On the other hand, it may take several days for the refund to be reflected in your bank account or credit card.

If you return the item within the stipulated number of days, you can choose whether you want the refund in form of cash or store/charge credit. If you return the item after the grace period, you can only be refunded in terms of store credit.

You will also be refunded with store or charge credit if you return an item with a gift receipt.

If you paid for your purchase using PayPal, you will be refunded using store or charge credit only.

Whether you make the return by mail or in-store will determine the process by which you can check the status of your refund.
