Tap File a Claim and follow the on-screen instructions to file a claim with SquareTrade. The customer service staff will ask questions about what happened to your item, and may approve the claim within minutes. Don't worry. A specialist will guide you through the next steps to successfully file a claim with SquareTrade.
After describing your issue with the customer service representative, wait for the confirmation email, which should arrive within 24 hours. You also need to wait for the shipping label associated with your account. If you haven't received a shipping label, email them at st-questions@squaretrade.com and include your claim or warranty number. You should get a new shipping label within 2 business days.

You don't need the registration for your plan to be active, but the receipt is required to file a claim.
