This article discusses what you should do if you realize that you need to make changes to your Shutterfly order after you have already placed it. Although it is technically not possible to edit a Shutterfly order after it has been placed, instructions are given for workarounds to this restriction.
If you placed an order on Shutterfly and then realized that you didn't get it quite right, you may wonder if it's possible to edit an order with Shutterfly after you have placed it. For the most part, the answer is no. However, there a couple of workarounds you can use.
If You Just Need Some Items Removed from Your Order
If you realize that you ordered some things that you shouldn't have, you can cancel your order, remove those items, and then resubmit it. There are two ways to do this. Please note that Shutterfly only allows you 30 minutes to cancel an order after you have placed it.
Canceling from the Confirmation Email
Canceling from Shutterfly's Site
After you have canceled the order, any promotional offers you used in the order will be restored.
It is possible that you might still see charges on your Paypal or bank statement even after you have canceled the order. These are just the initial authorizations you made, the system hasn't caught up with the cancellation yet. They will be removed soon.
After you have canceled the order, you can remove the items you ordered by mistake and then resubmit the order.
If You Need to Change or Add Some Items to the Order
This is a little trickier. Shutterfly does not let you change or add items once you have placed the order. So if you need to change some items, first cancel the order using either of the methods described above and remove the items you need changed. Resubmit the remaining order. Place a separate order for the new items you wish to add.
If you have any problems with this process, you can get in contact with Shutterfly's customer service. They have an online help forum and a customer service phone number.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Shutterfly in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Do I Edit an Order I Already Placed with Shutterfly? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
