How Do I Change My Flight with JetBlue?

In a nutshell: All JetBlue flight changes must be completed before the scheduled departure time. There is no cancellation or change fee except when your fare class is Blue Basic. Do note that you can no longer make changes to Blue Basic fares purchased after March 18, 2024. If booked before that date, there is a $100 change fee for routes to North America, the Caribbean, and Central America, and $200 for other routes. Go to Manage Trips

Use this link: https://www.jetblue.com/manage-trips

Enter your last name and confirmation code or ticket #. You can find this in the email or when you purchased your airline ticket with JetBlue. Tap Continue.

Tap Change

Look at your upcoming trips and tap Change in the trip you want to modify.

After clicking Change, you'll be asked to enter your new departure and arrival flights. Check the price summary and add any extras or select your seats, then confirm it.

Chat With an Agent

If you wish to speak to an agent for your flight change, visit this link: https://www.jetblue.com/contact-us/chat

Tap Start a Chat and wait for the chat pop-up. You can click Change My Trip and select if you wish to change your flight, seats, or want to add extras or traveler details. Follow the on-screen instructions to successfully modify your flight details.

Customers who booked through an agency can still contact JetBlue and change their flight, but for a $50 fee. You can avoid fees by contacting the agency directly to modify your flight details. If you booked with JetBlue directly and want to change your flight via chat, there is also a $25 nonrefundable fee per person. Use the website to avoid incurring additional fees.

Call JetBlue

You can also contact JetBlue directly to modify your flight details, but the $25 fee per person still applies. The only way to avoid paying an additional fee when modifying a booking is by using the self-service website.

JetBlue also offers same-day switches for Blue Plus, Blue, and Mint fares for only $75, and no fare difference applies. However, do note that you can only make a same-day switch on the day of your departure.

Note that certain reservation types can't be changed, including flights with a different city for the returning flight (not the departure city), reservations with special requests, and reservations paid by travel certificates or JetBlue vouchers. You can always contact Support if you're uncertain whether you can make changes to your flight.

If your travel plans may change, it's recommended to upgrade to the most flexible fare, which is Blue Extra, as you get early boarding, priority security, and no difference in fare for same-day switches. Confirm with JetBlue whether you can upgrade your fare to Blue Extra.

Conclusion

JetBlue customers may also use their travel credits (in their Travel Bank account) to pay for any applicable fare difference when modifying their flight. However, make sure to input the correct information, or you'll be locked out of your reservation. You can log back in after 4 hours to access your reservation. If you have a military or government fare, you're also eligible for a full refund if you want to make changes or cancellations. Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for JetBlue Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
