How Do I Send an Ach Payment from My Fifth Third Bank Account?

If you need to send money and have a Fifth Third Bank account, you can easily make an ACH transfer online. You just need to log into your account and use the transfer tool. What Is an ACH Transfer?

An external transfer, or ACH transfer, is an electronic transfer of funds between financial institutions that is processed by a clearinghouse. Because the clearinghouse does all the processing, your Fifth Third Bank won't charge you for it, unlike with a wire transfer. However, because it has to go elsewhere for processing, it may also take a little longer to go through than a wire transfer.

How to Send an ACH Transfer from Your Fifth Third Bank Account

For an ACH transfer, you are going to need the following information:

  • The routing number of your Fifth Third Bank
  • Your Fifth Third Bank account number
  • The recipient's account and routing numbers
  • The recipient's bank's name

To send an ACH transfer, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the Fifth Third Bank website.
  2. Log into your account.
  3. Click on the Transfer & Pay option in the menu on the left side of the screen.
  4. Click on Transfer Funds.
  5. Click on the account you want to transfer money out of.
  6. Click on the account you wish to transfer money to. If you haven't yet added the account you wish to transfer to, click on the Add Non 53 Account button and follow the instructions.
  7. Enter the amount you wish to transfer.
  8. Click the drop down arrow on the Frequency menu.
  9. Select whether this is a one-time payment or a recurring payment.
  10. Add a memo, if desired.
  11. Click on the Review button.
  12. Review the transfer details.
  13. Click on the Confirm button.
