What are the hours and when should I call?

TracFone Wireless operates the call center for this 800-323-2366 phone number 24 hours, 7 days. The short answer is that you should call on a Tuesday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 15,886 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this TracFone Wireless phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like TracFone Wireless staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.
The least busy time to call
The least busy day to call TracFone Wireless is Tuesday. The most busy day to call is Thursday. Again, this is based on a sample of 15,886 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.
The shortest wait on hold
We measured the shortest hold times to be on Friday. The longest wait in the queue on average occurs on Thursday.
The best time to call
In summation, the best day to call TracFone Wireless is Tuesday. This is not the day with the shortest wait on hold in the phone system, but we still recommend it for its ideal combination of low call volume and short hold times. Plus we believe that TracFone Wireless staffs the call center well on Tuesday.

My Experience Calling TracFone Wireless at this Number

Nov 28, 2023

People may call Tracfone to purchase a phone or to ask questions about the service area. They may want to know how to get a phone locally and how the company's plans work. I have traditional cell phone service through a national provider, but someday, I might consider a pay-as-you-go plan. I called Tracfone Wireless at 800-323-2366 to learn more about their options.

The first time I called the number, I heard an automated voice response system say, "Thank you for calling Tracfone Wireless," but the call disconnected. The second time I called the number, the system told me to press zero to speak to a company operator, and once again, the call dropped.

I called a third time. The automated voice answered and told me to press two for Spanish. It then said the company may record the call for quality assurance, and I could go to the Tracfone home page to see their privacy notice.

Next, the system offered a menu with the following options:  Press one to refill service, two to activate a number, three to change a number, four to purchase phones or accessories, and five for technical support and other services. I pressed four, and a human answered. I explained my interest in knowing how Tracfone works and whether it is a pay-as-you-go service.

The customer service associate said I could get pay-as-you-go service. I also wanted to know if I could buy or order the phone from Tracfone. The associate offered to sell me the phone during the call. However, I told them I wanted to learn more; they thanked me for calling sales. Then they connected me to another customer person who could tell me more.

The second customer service associate answered, thanked me for calling, and asked how they could help me. I inquired about whether Tracfone is a prepaid service. Before answering, the associate asked for my first name and Tracfone number. I explained that I did not have a Tracfone but may be interested in getting one. She told me I could buy a Tracfone at a big box retailer. I would also need to buy a service card to activate the phone.

When I asked about unlimited data, the individual said that depends on what service card I purchased. They thanked me for calling, confirmed that they processed my call successfully, and thanked me for allowing them to help me.

When the system disconnected twice, I almost gave up on reaching anyone at this customer service number. That may have been a one-time system glitch since the third attempt got me to a customer service associate who could answer my questions.

As with the typical customer service lines, I had to listen to an automated system go through a list of options, but I didn't get caught up in a continuous loop of repetitious prompts. The last person I spoke with was knowledgeable and professional and answered my questions about Tracfone.
