eBay sellers using media mail for non media items!!

The issue in GetHuman-crisma's own words
I purchased a hard drive from a seller on eBay, the item was advertised with shipping that would arrive by the **th, after receiving tracking info, it shows the **th even though the eBay shipped email still shows the **th. Looking in to it further I notice the seller has shipped it via media mail, which is against eBay and USPS policy per their respective websites. I contacted the seller who told me in short words that there's nothing he is going to do for me since i felt it was misrepresented and against eBay policy. I contacted eBay to file a report about the seller to the find out he may only get a warning, and they can not even tell me if he will or wont receive that. I feel that I am being taken advantage of by a seller because they know eBay wont do anything about it.... I paid for an item based on the item, and the arrival date, now I am going to be waiting much longer because the seller decided he wanted to break eBay policy and ship an item in a money saving move, but I don't see any difference in that money saving move other then having to wait longer then advertised, and I'm also now worried about how my hard drive will be treated as media mail, usually media mail is a paperback book that is thrown and tossed, no need to be careful with it, because media mail never has a sensitive item or electronics in it. I am extremely disappointed with eBay right now, and the process they take on not really holding a seller accountable. I am sure USPS would love to know that these things are happening, because they are losing out on tons of money since eBay allows sellers to use media mail for electronics and other items that definitely don't qualify. More then anything I am upset because eBay wont even help to rectify this situation with anything other then starting a refund process on the **th, so I may receive that on the **th-*nd, I can then again try to buy an item, and hope the seller takes eBay policy seriously and then I might receive it by the *th or **th, thanks eBay, purchased on the **th, and i might be able to resolve all this by the **th of the following month. I would love a real explanation on how this is ok to treat a long time eBay buyer like this when there is proof the seller is going against eBay policy.
