I went to Walgreens in Little Silver, NJ on Friday, *******. I picked up * out of * prescriptions. The *th was held up due to an insurance issue. It was held up for several days. Sunday in the wee hours of the morning I separated my meds into individual containers as I always do. I was short by about ** pills in my Potassium prescription. I went to the pharmacy to pick up the delayed script on Tuesday, ******* and told them of the shortage. They refused to make up the difference because instead of them being over they were short by **. I have used this pharmacy for over * years. I have no reason to make this up. The phamacist obviously must think I’m stupid. She actually told me that she couldn’t help me because I should have brought in the bottle with the shortage. If I was dishonest I would have removed pills and taken them out. I am an RN and not a liar. I have had shortages before but only one * or * pills. No big deal but ** is a problem. I find it absolutely disturbing that Walgreens cannot believe a good customer. My insurance allows me to go to another pharmacy for less $. Until now I have used Walgreens due to convenience as well as pleasant employees. I am seriously rethinking my decision. As I said earlier I was shorted about ** pills out of **. They were short **. What if I was short **. That’s **. With that number I would be concerned that perhaps an employee is skimming pills rather than an established customer lying. Remember, this is only potassium, not a narcotic. *Thank you for your assistance!
