I was scheduled to fly out on United Airlines tomorrow on a ** day trip. My confirmation number was H***GE. Today I went to Urgent Care because of chest pain and after being examined by a doctor was admitted to the hospital emergency room. Test results were troubling but inconclusive. I was directed to see my regular cardiologist within three days. Given the medical emergency I decided to cancel my trip, called United spoke to Beth and did so. Beth told me to go to United.com*refund fr instructions on how to submit the necessary medical information to get a CASH refund. I went to the site but couldn't find anything relevant. I've called several United numbers for guidance but the phone tree never directs me to an appropriate person and, even after waiting on hold for ** minutes no one answers the phone. So my question is: how do I go about applying for a cash refund for paid reservations that I cancelled because of a medical emergency?
